- Not a duplicate: no similarly named church is listed with us
- The name reads as a real congregation
- Contact email reviewed (gmail.com, common for small churches)
- The address given (Shekinahgospelchurcu/facebook.com) did not answer when we tried it, with and without www; a mistyped address says nothing about the congregation itself
- Independent web search performed: see the findings on the right
What we found
We searched for "Shekinah Gospel Church" in Cape Town and found no congregation of that exact name there; the closest Cape Town match is a differently named body, Shekinah Full Gospel Church at the corner of Hengelaar and Cricket Street, Beacon Valley, Mitchell's Plain, which also appears in a denominational leadership page as a Full Gospel Church of God congregation pastored from 2004 by Pastor Petersen (placedigger.com directory, fgcsa.co.za, plus its own Facebook and Instagram pages). A South African page under the exact name exists, but in another province: Shekinah Gospel Church in Boitekong, Rustenburg, with about 970 likes, describing itself as a family worship centre (Facebook). Our conclusion: The church responded to our request with a photograph of its building or congregation and a shared map or page link, and described itself in its own words as a French-speaking congregation in Retreat, Cape Town, led by Rev Didier Ditoko as senior pastor since 1996, which is consistent with the many Congolese and other French-speaking diaspora congregations in that part of Cape Town.
