What we found

We searched for "Berea Mission Church" together with Gweru and with Zimbabwe, and found no listing, page, or mention of a congregation by that name anywhere in Zimbabwe. The results instead returned similarly named but unrelated churches elsewhere, such as Berean Mission Church in the Bay Area, California, Berea Missionary Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Berea Baptist Mission Church listed on the Baptist Union of South Africa register. Zimbabwean church sources that did appear, including the Catholic Diocese of Gweru and national denominational registers, make no reference to this congregation, and we found no Facebook page, map pin, or directory entry tied to the contact address given. A search on the surname in the email returned only unrelated Zimbabwean figures (midweekwatch.com, tellzim.com), so we could not confirm the named minister. Our conclusion: Although an independent web search turned up no online listing for Berea Mission Church in Gweru, the congregation responded directly to our request with a photograph of the church, details of its founding in 2015, its location in the Woodlands area of Gweru, a congregation of around 100 people, and a non-denominational identity. They also supplied the name of their leader, Bishop S. Chimange, and a reference, Rev L. Musiyiwa, who can vouch for t
