Johannesburg, South Africa · listed since 2026-10-20

What we checked

  • Not a duplicate: no similarly named church is listed with us
  • The name reads as a real congregation
  • Contact email reviewed (gmail.com, common for small churches)
  • No website or social page was provided
  • Independent web search performed: see the findings on the right

What we found

We searched for "The Spirit Of Christ Assembly" together with Johannesburg, with "church South Africa", and alongside the contact address tsoca2021@gmail.com, and none of the three searches returned a page belonging to a congregation of that name. What came back instead were unrelated Johannesburg churches such as RCCG Victory Assembly in Bramley and RCCG Open Heavens Assembly in Troyeville, plus general articles on the Assemblies of God and the Apostolic Faith Mission in South Africa, which suggests the search engine is matching the common words "Spirit", "Christ" and "Assembly" rather than this specific church. We found no Facebook page, no church directory or map listing (for example on sayellow.com or bibletimes.app, both of which do list Gauteng churches), and no denominational register entry for it. We also found no scam reports, fraud warnings or complaints attached to the name, so there is nothing negative on record either. The findings are summarized here for space; the full research was weighed in the review.

Search conclusion: no evidence found. An independent web search is part of every review; an online page alone does not prove a congregation exists.
On our request, the church itself supplied additional evidence for this review; it was weighed in the verdict. See the appendix on page 2.

Our conclusion: In response to our request the congregation supplied a photograph of the gathering, a Facebook video link, a named Pentecostal affiliation and a contact pastor, together with a clear account of its history from a 2021 home cell fellowship to a formally inaugurated assembly of about thirty members in 2023. Although a general web search turned up no directory or social listing under this exact name, that is normal for a small, recently planted cong
