What we found
We searched for the specific congregation and found no page, listing, or mention of a "Chimwala Zambezi Evangelical Church" in Mangochi anywhere, including no Facebook page, map pin, or news item; the directory WorldChurches.net covers Mangochi and the traditional authority area "TA Chimwala" but lists zero churches for Mangochi Town, Lake Malawi, SC Namabvi and TA Chimwala. The parent denomination is clearly real and well documented: the Zambezi Evangelical Church is headquartered at Mitsidi near Blantyre and in 2012 had about 150 clergy serving over 500 congregations with 100,000 members, and it is a member of the Malawi Council of Churches. Its UK partner's 2025 prayer letter confirms active ZEC work in the Mangochi area, mentioning ZEC members and their Yao and Muslim neighbours there and growth with many baptisms. We found no scam reports, complaints, or signs of a personal brand; the Gmail contact address is simply unverifiable.
