What we checked

  • Not a duplicate: no similarly named church is listed with us
  • The name reads as a real congregation
  • Contact email reviewed (gmail.com, common for small churches)
  • The provided page was retrieved and read (cohat.org)
  • A working page belonging to this church was found by the search: cohat.org/
  • Independent web search performed: see the findings on the right

What we found

We searched for the church by name with Nairobi and with Kenya, and the given website resolves to an active site for COHAT, founded 21 November 2010 and described as registered with the Registrar of Societies and as a community-based organisation, with an address along Juja Road, Mathare, Nairobi. The same site describes two schools, in Mathare and western Kenya, with roughly 200 and 50 pupils. An independent US church's mission page confirms the founder and origin story, noting Pastor Ezekiel Aseka, raised in Mathare, started COHAT from a group of four and launched a church in November 2010 (reachorlando.com), matching the contact email. A charity directory also lists the ministry in Nairobi with the same phone and a Facebook page at facebook.com/cohatmathare (donationplaces.com), though we could not open that page directly. We found no scam reports, warnings or complaints.

Search conclusion: strong evidence. An independent web search is part of every review; an online page alone does not prove a congregation exists.

An independent US church's mission page separately confirms Pastor Ezekiel Aseka, the contact person named on this signup, as the founder who started the work in Mathare a
