What we found

We searched for "Faith Tabernacle Church" together with Nellore and with Andhra Pradesh, and found no listing, map entry, Facebook page, news mention or denominational register that connects a congregation of this name to Nellore in India. The name itself is widely used elsewhere: the best-known Faith Tabernacle is the headquarters megachurch of Living Faith Church Worldwide in Ota, Lagos, Nigeria, and several unrelated United States churches use the same name, while in India the closest match we saw was Shadow of the Almighty Faith Tabernacle Ministries, a church based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Our Nellore-focused search returned other, clearly different local churches with a visible presence, such as Believers Prayer Fellowship Church on Mypadu Road, Nellore and Apostolic Fellowship Church, Nellore, with about 5,000 Facebook followers, which suggests small Nellore congregations often are findable online. Our conclusion: Although our own searches found no online listing for Faith Tabernacle Church in Nellore, the congregation responded to our request with a photograph of its building and people, a social media handle, and concrete details: a Pentecostal congregation founded in 1972, about 75 families, meeting in its own church building in Kovur near Nellore. Nothing in the material looks contradictory or copied, and small Indian congregations commonly use a perso
