We searched for "The Great Commission Church in Timor Leste" together with Dili and separately as a congregation in the country, and we found no directory listing, Facebook page, map entry, news article or denominational register naming this church. What surfaced instead were only the well-documented Catholic bodies in Dili, such as the Archdiocese of Dili and its cathedral (Wikipedia), and the recognised Protestant groups in the country, the Protestant Church in East Timor and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of East Timor, which has 14 churches, three chapels and about 3,500 members (Wikipedia) - none of them listing a congregation by this name. Warning: the application gives the country as Indonesia while Dili is the capital of independent Timor-Leste, and the contact is a free Gmail address rather than a church domain, both of which are common signs of a hastily made or unverified listing. The findings are summarized here for space; the full research was weighed in the review.
Our conclusion: When we asked for confirmation, the church supplied a photograph of the building and congregation, a specific Facebook page link, and a stated affiliation with the Asia Evangelical Alliance and the World Evangelical Alliance, along with a plausible history of three congregations planted since 2014 in Dili, Baucau and Suai. Our own web search did not turn up a directory or news listing for this name, which is common for small congregations in Timo
No further action is needed. This report is refreshed whenever the church is reviewed again.
On our request, the church itself supplied the material below on 2026-08-23. It was weighed in the verdict on page 1. The church agreed to publication.
