1 Corinthians 6

The Explanation
Once there was a man named Paul. Paul loved Jesus very much. And Paul loved the people in a big city called Corinth.
But in Corinth something was not right. The people who loved Jesus were quarreling. They were angry with each other. And then they went to a judge. The judge had to say who was right.
Paul heard about it. And Paul wrote a letter. A long letter.
"Dear friends," wrote Paul. "Why are you quarreling like that? You belong together! You are all children of God. Can't you talk it out together?"
Paul also wrote something else. He wrote: "Do you know what you are? You are very special. Your body is like a little house. And in that house lives God's Spirit. So take good care of your body. And do not do ugly things with it. Do beautiful things. Things that make God glad."
What Does This Mean?
God loves you very, very much. And God loves the other children too. Just as much.
That is why quarreling hurts. Quarreling hurts God. And it hurts the other person. And it hurts you inside too.
Paul says: try to make up. Try to be sweet. And your little body, your hands and your feet and your mouth, they are precious. So use them for good things.
The Common Thread
Do you know why you are so precious? Because Jesus paid for you. Jesus loves you so much. He gave everything for you.
That is why God says: you are Mine now. Very precious. Like a beautiful treasure.
And in your heart lives God's Spirit. He is very close. Always. When you sleep. When you play. When you eat. God is with you.
For You
Sometimes you quarrel too. With your little brother maybe. Or with a friend at school. About a toy. Or about who may go first.
Then you get angry inside. Very angry.
But then you can think: wait a minute. God loves me. And God loves the other child too.
And then you can say: "Sorry." Or: "Here, you may have it first." That is hard sometimes. Very hard. But then God is glad.
And your hands? Your hands can hit. But your hands can also hug. Which do you choose?
Your mouth can say ugly words. But your mouth can also sing. And say sweet things.
You may choose.
