Jeremiah 30

Explanation and Bible story for toddlers and preschoolers (ages 3-6)

Bible

The Explanation

Far away, God's people were sad. Very sad. They were not home. They were in a strange land. Their hearts hurt, like a big bruise that would not heal.

God saw them. God heard them crying. And God said something to Jeremiah. "Write it down," God said. "Write all my words in a book."

God had a promise. A big, warm promise. "I will bring my people home again," God said. "They will live in their own land. Safe and sound."

What Does This Mean?

God's people were scared. Shaking, like a leaf in the wind. But God said, "Don't be afraid." "Don't be afraid, my people. I am with you."

Their wound was deep. No medicine could fix it. Nobody could make it better. Nobody, except God. "I will heal you," God said. "I will make you well again."

Can you feel that? A hurt so big, only God can heal it. That is what God said to His people, long ago.

The Common Thread

God promised a king too. A good king, from among His own people. Someone who would come close to God. Very close. God said, "I will cause him to draw near."

That king was coming. One day, a King would come who could always be near to God. His name is Jesus. Jesus makes God's people well. Jesus brings them home to God, forever.

God also said something beautiful. Something to hold onto. "You shall be my people, and I will be your God." Just that. Simple, and warm, like a blanket.

For You

Do you ever feel scared? Or sad, deep inside? God's people felt that too. But God did not leave them alone.

He said, "I am with you." He said, "I will save you." God still says that today. To you too.

When you are scared at night, you can think of this. God sees you. God is not far away. He heals hurts. Even the ones nobody else can fix.
