Revelation 7

The Explanation

Come and listen. John saw something very special. John was a friend of Jesus. He was on a big island. And God showed him things.

John looked up. And what did he see? He saw many, many people. So very many! Nobody could count them all. They were standing before God. Big people and small people. From all over the world.

They all had white clothes on. Snow white. And they held branches in their hands. Green branches from a palm tree. And they were singing! Loud and happy.

"Thank you, God!" they sang. "Thank you, Jesus!"

Around them stood angels. Lots of angels. The angels fell down on their knees. And they said, "Yes! Amen! Our God is great!"

What Does This Mean?

Then John heard a voice. Someone asked him, "Do you know who all those people are?"

John shook his head. No, he did not know.

"Those are people who love Jesus," the voice said. "They belong to Him. They are with God now. And they are so happy!"

Look, they were never hungry there. Never thirsty. The sun did not burn hot. Nobody was sad. Nobody cried.

Because God was there. And Jesus was there too. Jesus was like a shepherd. A good shepherd. He took care of all those people. Like a shepherd with his sheep.

And do you know what Jesus did? He wiped every tear away. Very gently. With his own hand. All the tears, gone.

The Common Thread

Do you remember? Jesus loves people. He loves big people. He loves small people. He loves you too.

Jesus once said, "I am the good shepherd." A shepherd knows his sheep. He calls them by name. He keeps them safe.

And now John sees it. There they are! All those people from Jesus. Safe. With God. Forever happy.

That is God's big promise. One day everyone with Jesus may come there too. To that beautiful place. With the singing. And the white clothes. And no more tears.

For You

Sometimes you cry. Maybe you fell down. Maybe you were sad. Maybe you missed Mama or Papa.

Jesus sees it. He really does. And one day, He will wipe all the tears away. With his own hand.

Isn't that good news?

You may already know Jesus now. You may talk to Him. He listens. Every day. He is your shepherd too.

Dear Jesus,
