The Explanation

Once there was a man. His name was Paul. Paul loved Jesus very much. Paul knew a young man too. That young man was called Timothy. Timothy was like a son to Paul.

Paul was far away. So he wrote a letter. A long letter, full of love. The letter was for Timothy. And do you know what? We can still read that letter today. It is in the Bible.

Timothy lived in a big city. In that city were people who told strange stories. Not true stories. They made up things about God. Paul said, "Timothy, do not listen to those stories. Keep telling what is really true."

What Does This Mean?

Paul wrote something very special in his letter. Listen carefully. Paul said, "I used to be a bad man. I hurt people. I said mean things about Jesus."

But then something happened. Jesus came to Paul. Jesus was not angry. Jesus was kind. Jesus said, "Paul, come with Me. I love you."

And Paul cried. Paul was so happy. Jesus washed all the bad things away. All gone. Paul got a whole new heart inside.

Paul wrote, "Look at me! If Jesus can love me, then Jesus can love anyone."

The Common Thread

That is why Jesus came to the earth. Do you know why? To find people. To find you and me. Jesus came for people who did wrong things. Jesus came to say, "Come here. I will help you. I love you."

Jesus is so, so kind. Kinder than the kindest mommy. Kinder than the kindest daddy. Jesus never says, "Go away." Jesus always says, "Come."

That made Paul so happy. Paul wanted to sing. Paul wanted to say thank you a hundred times. Thank You, Jesus! Thank You, thank You, thank You!

For You

Sometimes you do something that is not nice. Maybe you hit. Maybe you said an angry word. Maybe you did not listen.

Then your tummy feels sad inside. A little heavy. A little dark.

But listen. You can go to Jesus. Just like Paul did. You can whisper, "Jesus, I did something wrong." And do you know what Jesus does then? Jesus washes it away. All clean. All new.

Jesus loves you. Jesus loved you yesterday. Jesus loves you today. And tomorrow too.
