Revelation 21
Explanation and Bible story for toddlers and preschoolers (ages 3-6)
The Explanation
John looked up. Far, far away.
And John saw something new. A new sky. A new earth. Shiny and fresh.
No more sea that scared people. No more dark, hard things.
Then John saw a city. A beautiful city. It came down, down, down from heaven.
It sparkled like a jewel. Like glass, clear and bright.
It had big walls. Twelve gates, one on each side. Gold streets, shiny like a mirror.
A voice called out, loud and clear. It said, "God will live with people. Right here. Close by."
What Does This Mean?
Listen close now. This is the good part.
God said, "I will wipe away every tear."
Every single one. Gently, with His own hand.
No more crying. No more hurting. No more sad goodbyes.
God said, "I am making all things new."
Not old and broken. New. Like the very first morning.
The Common Thread
Do you know who lights up that whole city?
Not the sun. Not the moon.
The city didn't need them at all.
Jesus is the light. Jesus is like a lamp that never goes out.
Everyone who loves Jesus gets to come in. Their names are written down, safe in a book. The Lamb's book. Jesus is the Lamb.
He is thirsty people's water. Cool and clean, forever.
For You
One day, if you love Jesus, you will live in that shiny city too.
No more owies. No more tears at bedtime.
Just Jesus, close by, wiping every tear away with His hand.
Can you feel your own cheek? That's where He will touch, so gently.
Talk About It
What do you think the golden city smells like, or sounds like?
If Jesus wiped away your tears, what would you feel?
Praying Together
Dear Jesus, Thank You for the new city. Thank You that You are the light. One day, please wipe my tears. I want to live close to You. Amen.
