God's Love Fills Your Day
God's Love
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 92:2, Matthew 5:9, Matthew 8:3 and Psalm 23:4.
☀ Morning moment
to proclaim your loving kindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night,
Psalm 92:2 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Every morning we can tell others how kind God is, and every night how faithful He stays.
Your alarm goes off, or maybe mom or dad calls your name to wake up. Your feet hit the floor and a whole new day starts, with shoes to find, breakfast to eat, and a backpack to grab.
Before any of that, think about this. God was already awake. He was not surprised that today came. He planned this Tuesday just for you, with your school, your friends, your teacher, all of it.
This verse says mornings are for telling God's love out loud. So while you eat your toast, you could just whisper, thank You God, You are kind to me today. That is it. Small and simple. Then off you go, carrying His love with you like a snack in your pocket, ready whenever you need it.
✦ Lunch moment
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.
Matthew 5:9 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Jesus says people who make peace instead of fights are happy people, and they are called God's own children.
Maybe this morning someone at school got grumpy over a silly thing, like whose turn it was on the swing. It happens fast, one word turns into an argument.
Jesus says something surprising. He does not call the loudest kid happy, or the one who wins the argument. He calls the peacemakers happy, the ones who help calm things down.
This afternoon you get another chance. Maybe you can say sorry first, even when it feels hard. Maybe you can share the last seat at the table, or laugh instead of shout. That is peacemaking, and Jesus smiles at that. You are His child when you do it.
✩ Afternoon moment
Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
Matthew 8:3 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: A man was very sick, and nobody wanted to touch him. Jesus touched him anyway and made him well right away.
Think about a kid at school that nobody sits next to at lunch. Maybe he smells funny, or maybe she just seems different. People usually stay far away from someone like that.
The man in this story was sick with leprosy. People were scared of him. They did not want to get close, not even a little bit. But Jesus walked right up to him. Jesus did not just talk to him from far away. Jesus touched him with His own hand.
That touch mattered. It said, you are not too dirty for me, you are not too much trouble. Jesus made him well that same second. You cannot heal someone with your hands like Jesus did. But you can sit next to the one nobody chooses. Sometimes that is its own small miracle.
☾ Evening moment
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Even in the dark, you don't need to be scared. God is right beside you, keeping you safe like a shepherd with his sheep.
The room is dark now. Maybe you can hear the house settling, or a car passing outside. Sometimes the dark makes little sounds feel bigger than they are.
But you are not alone in the dark. God is right there with you, closer than your blanket, closer than your favorite stuffed animal. He does not fall asleep and forget about you. He watches over you all night long, just like a shepherd stays close to his sheep even when it gets dark in the fields.
You can breathe out now. You can let your shoulders relax into the pillow. Whatever happened today, good or hard, it can rest now too. God is holding it all, and He is holding you. Close your eyes. You are safe, and morning will come.
