God's Love Fills Our Day
God's Faithful Love
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 90:14, Psalm 100:5, Luke 19:6 and Psalm 91:14.
☀ Morning moment
Satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Psalm 90:14 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God wants to fill your morning with His love, so you can feel happy the whole day long.
You stretch, you yawn, and light comes through the curtains. It is Sunday, a day to be with family, to sing, to rest, maybe to visit grandma or play outside after church.
Before anything else happens, God is already thinking about you. He wants to fill this morning with His love, like pouring warm milk into your favorite cup. Not because you earned it, just because He loves you.
So today you do not need to hunt for happiness. You can carry it with you, into the church pew, around the lunch table, into the garden where you play. God's love came first, before your feet even touched the floor. That is something to be glad about, all day long.
✦ Lunch moment
For Yahweh is good. His loving kindness endures forever, his faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 100:5 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God is good and His love never runs out. He stays faithful to us, always and forever.
Smell that lunch smell? Maybe soup, or sandwiches, or something warm from the oven. Sunday lunch often feels a bit special, doesn't it. Maybe you just came from church, or you are about to rest all afternoon.
Think about this. God's love is like a table that never runs empty. It was there yesterday, it is there right now while you eat, and it will be there tomorrow too. You cannot use it up, no matter how much you need.
So today, say a quiet thank you before you eat. Not because you have to, but because it is true. God has been good to your family, this week and every week. That is worth remembering, right there at the table, between bites.
✩ Afternoon moment
He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.
Luke 19:6 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Zacchaeus climbed down from the tree as fast as he could. He was so happy that Jesus wanted to visit his house.
Zacchaeus was small, and nobody liked him much. But Jesus looked up into that tree and called his name. Zacchaeus did not wait. He scrambled down so fast he probably scraped his knee, and he was grinning the whole way.
Think about a time someone you love came to your house. Maybe grandma arrived, or your best friend stayed for the afternoon. You probably ran to the door. That is how Zacchaeus felt, only it was Jesus standing there.
Today is a day for being together, with family, with church, with people who love Jesus. You do not have to be perfect or important for Jesus to want to be near you. He calls your name too, and He is glad, so glad, when you come running.
☾ Evening moment
“Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name.
Psalm 91:14 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God says: because you love me, I will keep you safe. Because you know my name, I will lift you up.
Think about your favorite blanket, the one that feels just right when you pull it up to your chin. God's love is even softer than that, and it never wears out.
Today was Sunday, maybe you sang songs at church, or sat close to people you love. God was there in all of it, watching you the whole day, even in the quiet moments after lunch.
Now it is almost time to sleep. You don't have to hold onto anything tonight. God already knows your name, He knows exactly who you are, and He is holding onto you. Close your eyes. You are safe in His hands, right now, all night long.
