God Is With You Always
God's loving care
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 46:10, Ecclesiastes 4:10, Mark 1:41-42 and Psalm 139:9-10.
☀ Morning moment
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God says, stop and remember I am God. You don't have to figure everything out alone, He is in charge.
Your alarm rings, your shoes are half on, and your bag is somewhere under your bed. Mornings can feel like a rush. But right before all that busyness starts, God whispers something calm: be still, and know that I am God.
You don't need to carry today by yourself. Not the spelling test, not the friend who might be grumpy, not the shoelace that always comes untied at the worst moment. God is already awake, already there, already in charge of your whole day, from the school bell to bedtime.
Your turn
Before you grab your bag, stand still for three seconds and quietly say to God, this day is Yours.
✦ Lunch moment
For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up.
Ecclesiastes 4:10 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: If one friend falls down, the other one helps them up. It is sad to fall with nobody there to help you.
Think about recess. Someone trips on the playground and scrapes their knee. What happens next matters a lot. Does everyone just keep running past, or does someone stop and help them up?
That is exactly what this Bible verse is talking about. Friends are not just for fun and games. Friends are for the moments when things go wrong too, when someone drops their tray, forgets their homework, or just feels sad at lunch.
Your turn
You do not need to be the strongest or the smartest to help someone up. You just need to notice, and to stop. Today, keep your eyes open for one person who seems to be struggling, and offer them a hand, a smile, or your seat next to you.
✩ Afternoon moment
Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.” When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean.
Mark 1:41-42 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Jesus felt sorry for the sick man and touched him, even though no one else would. Right away the man was completely well.
Maybe today someone at school had a runny nose, or a scrape, or smelled a little funny, and some kids stayed away from them. That is a normal thing to feel. The man in this story was so sick that everyone stayed far away from him for years. Nobody wanted to touch him, not even his own family.
But Jesus did not step back. He walked closer. He reached out His hand and actually touched the man, right where he was sick. Jesus was not afraid of his sickness. He cared more about the man than about staying clean Himself. One touch, and the man was completely well.
Your turn
Today, go sit next to someone at home or outside who seems a bit left out, and just be near them for a little while.
☾ Evening moment
If I take the wings of the dawn, and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me.
Psalm 139:9-10 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Even if you flew far away, over the sea, past the sunrise, God's hand would still hold you tight.
Tonight your room is quiet. Maybe you can hear the fridge humming, or a dog barking far away. The lights are off and your eyes feel heavy.
God is not only awake in the daytime, when you are riding your bike or doing homework. God is awake right now too. His hand is near your bed, even in the dark, even when you cannot see it. You do not have to hold on tight to anything. He is already holding you.
Your turn
You do not need to go anywhere far to find Him. He is as close as your pillow tonight. Before you close your eyes, whisper one thing you were glad about today, quietly, just to God.
