God's Love Fills Our Day
God's loving care
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 84:1, Psalm 95:2, Daniel 6:16 and Psalm 23:2.
☀ Morning moment
How lovely are your dwellings, Yahweh of Armies!
Psalm 84:1 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: The writer says God's house is a wonderful, cozy place to be.
You stretch, you yawn, and you remember what day it is. Sunday! No backpack today, no rushing. Maybe you smell pancakes, or you hear mom humming while she gets ready for church.
Today is a day to be together with God's family. Think of the people who will be there, your friends from church, grandma, the little kids who always wiggle during the songs. God loves it when His people come together, like one big, warm room full of love.
Your turn
Before you go, sing one little song or hum one tune to God while you get dressed.
✦ Lunch moment
Let’s come before his presence with thanksgiving. Let’s extol him with songs!
Psalm 95:2 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: The psalm says: let's come to God and say thank You. Let's sing happy songs to Him.
Maybe today you were at church, singing loud or just humming along. Maybe you sat quietly and listened. Either way, it was a good moment, because Sunday is the day to come close to God and say thank You.
You don't need a fancy song to do that. Even at the lunch table, with your plate in front of you, you can whisper a quick thank You. For the food. For the people sitting next to you. For the whole lazy Sunday still ahead.
Thankfulness makes your heart feel lighter, like a balloon that got a little air. It doesn't need to be loud or perfect, just real.
Your turn
Before you finish lunch, say one thing out loud that you are thankful for today.
✩ Afternoon moment
Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. The king spoke and said to Daniel, “Your God whom you serve continually, he will deliver you.”
Daniel 6:16 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: The king put Daniel into a den full of lions. But the king knew Daniel's God would take care of him.
Have you ever felt scared, even on a quiet Sunday afternoon? Maybe it's a loud dog, a dark hallway, or a big roar of a lion you watched on TV.
Daniel was once thrown into a den full of real, hungry lions. It sounds terrifying. But Daniel had been praying to God every single day, even when it was hard. God sent an angel and shut the lions' mouths, and Daniel walked out without a scratch. God is still with you when you feel small or scared, just like He was with Daniel.
Your turn
Tell someone at home one thing that scares you today, and ask them to pray with you about it.
☾ Evening moment
He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.
Psalm 23:2 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God is like a good shepherd. He gives you a soft, safe place to rest, and quiet water to calm down by.
Today was a Sunday, maybe you sang songs at church, or sat close to someone you love. Now it is evening, and your bed is waiting, soft and warm.
Think of a shepherd with his sheep. When the sun goes down, he does not leave them in a scary place. He finds soft grass and quiet water, and the sheep can finally rest, because they know he is near.
God is your shepherd too. He is not far away tonight. He watches over your room, your bed, your whole house, while you close your eyes.
Your turn
Before you fall asleep, whisper one thank you to God for something good from today.
