God's Love Fills Our Day
God's love
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 59:16, John 15:12, Mark 4:39 and Psalm 23:3.
☀ Morning moment
But I will sing of your strength. Yes, I will sing aloud of your loving kindness in the morning. For you have been my high tower, a refuge in the day of my distress.
Psalm 59:16 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: In the morning, sing about God's strength and love. He is like a strong tower where you are always safe.
Your alarm rings, your shoes are somewhere under the bed, and breakfast is waiting. Mornings can feel rushed, but something quiet happens before all that noise starts. God is already awake with you, strong like a tower that never falls down.
Think about your tower at home, maybe a pillow fort or the big tree in the garden you climb. A tower keeps you safe when storms come. God is like that, only bigger and closer. He is not far away in the sky, He is right there while you pack your school bag, tie your shoelaces, and grab your lunch.
Your turn
You don't need to feel brave all by yourself today. God's strength goes with you into the classroom, onto the playground, next to your friends at lunch. Before you leave the house, whisper one quiet thank you to God for being your strong tower today.
✦ Lunch moment
“This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.
John 15:12 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Jesus gives us one simple job: love each other, the same way He loves us.
Look around the lunch table today. Someone might be sitting a little bit alone, or waiting to see if anyone will talk to them. You know that feeling too, don't you, when you hope someone notices you.
Jesus didn't say love is complicated. He just said, love each other like I love you. That means sharing your crackers, laughing at someone's joke even if it's not that funny, saying yes when someone asks you to play.
Your turn
You don't need a big plan. You just need two eyes open at lunch today. Choose one person to be kind to, maybe by sitting next to them or sharing something from your lunchbox.
✩ Afternoon moment
He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:39 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Jesus stood up in the boat and told the wind and waves to stop. Right away, everything became calm and quiet.
Maybe your day felt like a storm today. A test that was hard, a fight with a friend, too much noise in the hallway. Things inside you got all stirred up, like waves bumping into each other.
The disciples were scared in their little boat. The wind was howling, water was splashing in. But Jesus was right there with them, even when it felt like He was asleep. He stood up and said just two words, and the whole sea went quiet.
Jesus can do that with your noisy, bumpy feelings too. You do not have to fix the storm yourself. Tell Him what happened today, out loud or quietly in your head, and let Him help you feel calm again.
Your turn
Right now, sit still for ten seconds and breathe slowly, like the wind is going down.
☾ Evening moment
He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Psalm 23:3 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God makes your heart feel better when you are tired or sad, and He shows you the right way to walk, step by step.
Today was a busy day. Maybe you had school, homework, lunch, running around at break. Your legs are tired now, and your brain is tired too. That is okay. Evening is the time to stop.
God sees how full your day was. He is not tired like you are. While you were doing spelling tests or tying your shoes a hundred times, He was quietly watching over you, like a shepherd who never looks away from his sheep. He makes your soul feel calm again, even if your day was messy or you made mistakes.
You do not have to fix anything tonight. You do not have to plan tomorrow. Just breathe out slowly, let your shoulders drop, and let God hold the whole day in His hands while you fall asleep.
Your turn
Before you close your eyes, whisper one thing from today that you are thankful for.
