God Rejoices Over You

God's Love

3 days ago For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Zephaniah 3:17, Proverbs 12:25, Daniel 3:17 and Psalm 139:3.

☀ Morning moment

Yahweh, your God, is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing.

Zephaniah 3:17 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God is right there with you today. He is so happy about you that He sings for joy over you.

Your alarm goes off, your feet hit the floor, and the day starts before you even feel ready. Maybe you still need to find your shoes, or your hair won't sit right, or you forgot to sign that paper for school.

But here is something amazing. Before you even walk out the door, God is already with you. He is not far away watching from a cloud. He is close, right beside you at the breakfast table, on the walk to school, in the busy hallway. And He is not grumpy about your messy morning. He is happy about you. So happy that He sings.

Your turn
Before you leave the house today, tell God quietly, even in your head, thank You for this new day.

✦ Lunch moment

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad.

Proverbs 12:25 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: When someone feels worried inside, just one kind word can make their heart feel light and happy again.

Think about your lunch table today. Maybe you notice someone sitting alone, or a friend who forgot their sandwich, or someone who just looks tired. You have felt that heavy feeling too, when worry sits in your tummy like a stone.

God sees that heavy feeling. In the Bible He tells us something simple and true: one kind word can lift a worried heart right up. You don't need clever words or a long speech. A smile, a high five, or saying 'want to sit with me' can turn someone's whole afternoon around.

Your turn
This afternoon, choose one person and say something kind to them, just one small sentence.

✩ Afternoon moment

If it happens, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

Daniel 3:17 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Daniel's three friends told the king: our God can save us from the fire. And even if He doesn't, we still trust Him.

Maybe today someone laughed at you for something, or you had to stand alone at school because you did the right thing. That feels scary, like a fire coming close.

Daniel's friends were told to bow down to a statue, but they said no, because they only bow to God. The king got angry and threw them into a blazing furnace. They did not know if God would save them. But they trusted Him anyway, even before they knew what would happen.

You do not always know how things will turn out either. Maybe a test, a friendship, or a hard moment at home. You can still choose to trust God, just like Daniel's friends did.

Your turn
Tell someone at home about a moment today when it was hard to do the right thing.

☾ Evening moment

You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.

Psalm 139:3 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God knows every step you take, and He knows just how you like to lie down to sleep. He knows all about you.

Today was a school day. Maybe you ran on the playground, maybe you sat quietly with a book, maybe you got tired around dinner time. God saw all of it, every little bit.

Now the lights are getting soft and your bed is waiting. You do not have to explain your whole day to God. He already knows where you walked, what you carried, and how sleepy you feel right now. There is nothing to hide and nothing to fix before you close your eyes.

You can just breathe out and let your body sink into the pillow. God is not far away in the dark, He is right here watching over you like a parent checking one last time before turning off the hall light.

Your turn
Before you sleep, whisper one thing that happened today and tell God about it.
