God's Goodness Never Ends

God's Goodness

4 days ago For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 118:1, Proverbs 27:17, John 9:6 and Psalm 121:8.

☀ Morning moment

Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.

Psalm 118:1 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God is good, and His love for you never stops, not even for one single day.

Your alarm goes off, and for one second you just lie there. Maybe you can smell toast, or hear your mom calling, or your little brother banging his shoe against the stairs. A whole day is waiting for you, with school, with friends, with maybe a math test or a football game at break.

Before any of that starts, God is already there. He was awake before you, watching over your house all night. His love did not take a break while you slept. It is still just as big and just as warm this Tuesday morning as it was yesterday, and it will be tomorrow too.

Your turn
Before you grab your backpack, whisper one quiet thank you to God for something good in your morning.

✦ Lunch moment

Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance.

Proverbs 27:17 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Just like one knife makes another knife sharp, good friends help each other become better.

Think about your best friend for a second. What do they do that makes you braver, kinder, or just happier? Maybe they cheer you on when you are scared to try something new, or they laugh with you until your tummy hurts.

Friends are like that. They rub off on each other. If your friend is patient, you learn to be patient too. If you are honest, it helps your friend be honest too. You are shaping each other, every single day, even during a normal Tuesday lunch break.

Your turn
So today, notice what your friends do well. Maybe someone shares kindly, or listens well, or makes you laugh. Tell one friend today something you like about how they treat others.

✩ Afternoon moment

When he had said this, he spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva, anointed the blind man’s eyes with the mud,

John 9:6 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Jesus made mud with His spit and put it on a blind man's eyes to heal him.

Imagine coming home from school with muddy hands, and someone smears more mud on your face and says it will help you. Weird, right? That is what Jesus did. He could have just said a word, but instead He used spit and dirt to heal a man's eyes.

Sometimes God does things in a way you don't expect. Maybe you prayed for something and the answer came in a strange way, through a friend, through waiting, through something small. It can feel confusing, like mud on your eyes instead of a quick fix.

Your turn
The blind man let Jesus do it, even though it seemed odd. Today, tell someone at home about one thing you don't fully understand, but you still trust God with it.

☾ Evening moment

Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more.

Psalm 121:8 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God watches over you when you go out to play and when you come home again. He never stops keeping you safe.

Think about your day today. You went out the door this morning, maybe to school, and tonight you came back home again. All day long, God was watching over you, even when you weren't thinking about Him at all.

He saw you at your desk. He saw you on the playground. He saw you walking home. And now He sees you here, in your bed, with your blanket pulled up warm.

God doesn't just watch you go out. He watches you come home too. Tomorrow when you leave for school, and tonight when you close your eyes, He is keeping you, both times, always.

Your turn
Whisper a quiet thank you to God for keeping you safe today.
