God's care
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Philippians 4:6, Proverbs 16:24, John 9:25 and Psalm 121:1.
☀ Morning moment
In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
Philippians 4:6 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Don't worry about anything. Instead, tell God everything you think and feel, and say thank You too.
Maybe your tummy feels a bit funny this morning. A test, a new friend, a hard sum, all of it can feel big before breakfast is even finished. You pull on your shoes and wonder what today will bring.
God says you don't have to carry that worry alone. You can just tell Him, right now, while you're still in your pajamas or brushing your teeth. Tell Him about the spelling test, or the friend you had a fight with, or the game at recess you're excited for. He listens to all of it, the big things and the small things.
And then you can say thank You too, for breakfast, for your family, for the sun coming up again. Talking to God can make your heart feel lighter before you even walk out the door.

Before you leave the house today, tell God one thing you feel worried or excited about.
✦ Lunch moment
Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

In simple words: Kind words feel sweet, like honey. They make people feel good on the inside.
Think about lunch today. Maybe someone sits alone, or maybe your friend forgot their snack. A kind word costs you nothing, but it can make someone's whole afternoon better.
Words are strange like that. A mean word can stick in your head all day, like a splinter. But a kind word can sit in your heart like something warm and sweet, just like honey on toast.
You get to choose your words today. At school, on the playground, even at home tonight, you can hand out kindness like it is free candy, because it is.

✩ Afternoon moment
He therefore answered, “I don’t know if he is a sinner. One thing I do know: that though I was blind, now I see.”
John 9:25 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: The man could not see before, but now he could. He did not understand everything about Jesus, but he knew that one big thing was true.
Maybe today at school there was something you did not understand. A math problem, a rule, a reason why something happened. That is okay. Even grown-ups do not understand everything.
The man in this story could not explain everything about Jesus either. People asked him hard questions. But he held on to the one thing he knew for sure. His eyes had been closed, and now they were open. Nobody could take that away from him.
You might have questions too, about God, about life, about why things are the way they are. You do not need all the answers today. You just need to hold on to what you already know is true.

Tell one person today one thing you know for sure about Jesus, even if it is small.
☾ Evening moment
I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from?
Psalm 121:1 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: When you feel small or worried, look up. God is the one who helps you, and He is always near.
The day is over now. Maybe you rode your bike, did homework, or played with your brother or sister. Your legs are tired and your eyes feel heavy.
When it gets dark, sometimes little worries come creeping in, like shadows in your room. You might wonder if everything will be okay tomorrow. But you don't have to figure that out tonight. You can simply look up, just like the words in the Psalm. God is already watching over your room, your street, your whole town, right now while you lie in bed.

You don't need to fix anything or carry anything. God carries it for you tonight. Before you close your eyes, whisper one thing you are thankful for today.
