In simple words: When you are happy with God, He gives you good things for your heart.
Saturday morning smells like pancakes, or maybe like the garden if dad is already outside. No backpack today, no rushing. You get to choose, puzzles, bike rides, building a fort with cushions, or just lying on the floor with a comic book.
God loves seeing you happy. He is not far away watching with a frown. He is right there with you when you laugh at breakfast, when you build something wobbly out of blocks, when you snuggle close to mom on the couch. Being close to Him is not only for church, it is for every ordinary happy moment too.

Today, do one thing you truly enjoy, and while you do it, quietly say thank You to God for it.
✦ Lunch moment
A cheerful heart makes good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

In simple words: A happy heart helps your whole body feel good. Being sad all the time makes you feel weak inside.
Do you know that laughing is actually good for you? It is true. When you giggle with your brother, or grin because the sun is out, something good happens inside you. God made you that way on purpose.
Saturdays are made for this. Maybe you are building something, riding your bike, or just lying on the couch with a snack. Little moments of fun are not silly extras. They are gifts from God that help your heart feel light and strong.
Of course some days feel heavy too, and that is okay. God cares about that as well. But today, notice the fun bits. Notice what makes you smile.

✩ Afternoon moment
He ran on ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.

In simple words: Zacchaeus was too short to see over the crowd, so he ran ahead and climbed a tree to see Jesus go by.
Have you ever climbed something high just to see better? A tree, a fence, dad's shoulders? Zacchaeus did that too. He was small, and the crowd was big, so he could not see anything. He did not give up. He ran ahead and climbed right up into a tree.
He looked a little silly up there, a grown man in a tree. But he did not care. He just wanted to see Jesus. And guess what happened? Jesus looked up and saw him too. Jesus always notices the ones who are trying to get close to Him, even when it looks funny.

This afternoon, climb something fun outside, a tree, a rock, a hill, and look around from up there for a minute.
☾ Evening moment
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day,

In simple words: You don't need to be scared at night. God is watching, so you can feel safe when it's dark.
Maybe today you were outside all afternoon, riding your bike or playing in the garden with your family. Now the sky is getting dark, and it is time to slow down.
Sometimes the dark feels a bit strange. Shadows look different. The house makes little creaking sounds. But you are not alone in the dark. God is awake too, and He is not scared of anything. He watches over your whole house while you sleep, just like He watched over you all through this Saturday.

You can let your body go soft and heavy on your pillow now. There is nothing you need to fix or carry tonight. Whisper one thing you are thankful for from today, quietly, before you close your eyes.
