Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 34:4, Proverbs 3:27, 1 Samuel 17:45 and Psalm 3:5.
☀ Morning moment
I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Psalm 34:4 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: A boy asked God for help, and God answered him. God took his scared feelings away.
Maybe your shoes are still by the door and your backpack feels heavy this morning. Maybe there is a test today, or a kid at school who is not so nice to you. It is okay to feel a little shaky about that.
This boy in the Bible felt scared too. So he did something simple. He just told God about it. And God heard him. He was not too busy, He was not far away, He listened right then and made the scared feeling smaller.
Your turn
Before you walk out the door today, whisper to God about the one thing that feels a bit scary, and ask Him to help you with it.
✦ Lunch moment
Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.

In simple words: If you can help someone right now, don't wait. Do the kind thing today.
Right now, at lunch, you probably have a little bit of power. Power to share your snack. Power to save a seat. Power to say something kind to someone sitting alone. It does not feel like a big deal, but it is exactly the moment this verse is talking about.
Sometimes you think, someone else will help them, or I will do it later. But God says, if you can do it now, do it now. Maybe that means passing the ketchup before anyone asks. Maybe it means noticing the kid nobody is talking to.

This afternoon, look around wherever you are and do one small kind thing you could easily skip, but don't.
✩ Afternoon moment
Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin; but I come to you in the name of Yahweh of Armies, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

In simple words: David tells the giant that he is not scared, because God is with him and God is stronger than any sword or spear.
Maybe today someone at school seemed way too big or too loud, like a giant you couldn't beat. David was just a boy, smaller than the giant Goliath, without armor or a big sword. Everyone thought he would lose.
But David wasn't looking at how big the giant was. He was thinking about how big God is. That's why he could walk out to the field without shaking, even with his heart pounding.
Your turn
You don't need a sword to be brave. You just need to remember that God walks with you, into every classroom, every playground, every hard moment. Tell one person today about something that felt scary, and that you weren't alone in it.
☾ Evening moment
I laid myself down and slept. I awakened; for Yahweh sustains me.
Psalm 3:5 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: The person in this verse went to sleep and woke up safe, because God was holding him the whole night.
Maybe today was busy. You ran at recess, you finished your homework, you helped clear the table after dinner. Now your body is tired and your bed is calling you.
Before you close your eyes, think of this. God does not get sleepy. While you rest, He stays awake, watching over your house, your street, your whole family. Nothing sneaks past Him. You do not have to hold onto anything tonight, He is already holding you.
That is why you can breathe out and let go. Your job today is not to keep watch, it is just to sleep, knowing you will wake up tomorrow because God kept you safe all night.
