Glad Hearts, Joyful Praise Today

Joy and care

Today For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 122:1, Psalm 100:1, Luke 18:16 and Psalm 121:5.

☀ Morning moment

I was glad when they said to me, “Let’s go to Yahweh’s house!”

Psalm 122:1 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Someone said, let's go to God's house, and it made the writer happy inside.

Today is Sunday, a special day. Maybe you are still in pajamas, or maybe you already smell breakfast downstairs. Soon your family will get ready to go to church, to sing and pray together with lots of other people.

Think about your favorite person to sit next to in church. Maybe it is your mom, your grandpa, or your best friend. Going to God's house is not boring, it is like a big happy gathering where everyone comes to say thank you to God together.

Your turn
Before you leave, tell someone at home one thing you are glad about this morning.

✦ Lunch moment

Shout for joy to Yahweh, all you lands!

Psalm 100:1 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Sing loud and happy songs to God, everyone everywhere!

Sunday lunch tastes a little different, doesn't it? Maybe you already sang songs at church this morning, or maybe your family is still humming one at the table. Today is a special day for making noise for God, not quiet, careful noise, but real shouting for joy.

Think of your loudest laugh, the kind that bursts out at something silly. That is a bit like what this verse means. God is not asking for a polite little clap. He wants your whole heart to be glad, loud enough that everyone around you notices something good is happening.

Your turn
You don't need a stage or a microphone. You can shout it in the garden, sing it in the car, or just grin big at lunch. This afternoon, sing one happy song out loud, even just to yourself.

✩ Afternoon moment

Jesus summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.

Luke 18:16 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Jesus called the children to come close to Him. He said heaven belongs to children just like them.

Maybe you were at church this morning, sitting between grown-ups, waiting for the singing to start. Sometimes it feels like the big things belong to the big people. Jesus did not think that.

When people tried to send the children away, Jesus stopped them. He wanted the children right next to Him, not at the back. He said His kingdom belongs to kids like you, not just to grown-ups who know all the answers.

Jesus is not far away today. You do not need to be older, or quieter, or know more Bible verses to come close to Him. You can come just as you are, right now.

Your turn
Today, sit close to someone at church or at home and tell them one thing you are thankful for.

☾ Evening moment

Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand.

Psalm 121:5 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God watches over you like a friend standing right beside you, keeping you safe like cool shade on a hot day.

Today was Sunday, a day for church and singing and being together with people you love. Maybe you sang loud songs, or sat quietly next to mom or dad, or ate a special lunch with family. Now the day is ending, and your bed is waiting for you, soft and warm.

Did you know God was with you all through today? Not just at church, but in the car, at the table, during your nap, during play. God stood right beside you, like a friend who never walks away. He kept watch over you, the way a parent checks on a sleeping baby.

You do not have to stay awake and watch for danger. God is already awake, already watching, already loving you. You can close your eyes now and rest.

Your turn
Before you fall asleep, whisper one thank you to God for something good from today.
