Singing And Praying With God

Praise and prayer

Today For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 84:4, Psalm 95:1, Mark 1:35 and Psalm 4:4.

☀ Morning moment

Blessed are those who dwell in your house. They are always praising you.

Psalm 84:4 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God says it is wonderful to be in His house, singing and thanking Him together.

Today is Sunday. Maybe you are pulling on your favorite shirt, or mom is calling you to hurry up because the car is waiting. Church is not like other days. It is a day to sing loud, sit with people you love, and say thank You to God together.

Think about your church. The chairs, the songs, the people who always smile at you, maybe a snack after. God loves it when His family gathers like that. He is happy when you walk through those doors, even if you feel sleepy or wiggly.

You do not need to be perfect to belong there. God just wants you close, singing along, even if you forget some words.

Your turn
Sing one line of your favorite worship song out loud before you leave for church today.

✦ Lunch moment

Oh come, let’s sing to Yahweh. Let’s shout aloud to the rock of our salvation!

Psalm 95:1 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: The Bible says, come on, let's sing to God. Let's shout for joy because He keeps us safe.

Right now your tummy is full, and maybe your family is still together after church or a quiet Sunday breakfast. Did you know God loves it when you sing, even if it is a silly song or you forget the words?

Sunday is a day to remember that God is good. You do not need a fancy voice or a big church building. You can hum while you help clear the table, or sing in the car, or just whisper thank You to God in your heart.

Your turn
Today, sing one song, out loud or quietly, to say thank You to God for this day.

✩ Afternoon moment

Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there.

Mark 1:35 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Jesus got up early, before anyone else was awake, and went somewhere quiet to talk to His Father.

Sunday afternoons can feel a bit slow, can't they? Maybe you are lying on the couch, or playing quietly on the floor. That slow feeling is not wasted time.

Jesus knew that feeling too. Even though people needed Him all day long, He still found a quiet moment just to be with His Father. Not to do anything special, just to be close.

Your turn
You don't need the perfect words or a special place. You can talk to God while you lie on your bed, or sit in your favorite chair. Find a quiet spot right now and just whisper one thing to God, something good that happened today.

☾ Evening moment

Stand in awe, and don’t sin. Search your own heart on your bed, and be still.

Psalm 4:4 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: When you are lying in bed, you can stop rushing and just be quiet with God, without any worry.

Today was Sunday. Maybe you sang songs at church, or sat together with your family and said thank you to God. Now the day is over, and your room is quiet.

Your head might still be full of pictures from today. A funny story, a game, a hug from grandma. That's okay. God is not in a hurry. He says you may just lie still on your bed, and rest with Him, without needing to think of anything clever to say.

God watched over your whole Sunday, and He will watch over your whole night too. You don't have to hold onto the day anymore. You can let it go into His hands.

Your turn
Before you close your eyes, whisper one good thing from today to God.
