God's Love Cares For You
God's Loving Care
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 103:13, John 15:13, Genesis 37:3 and Psalm 91:15.
☀ Morning moment
Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him.
Psalm 103:13 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Just like a kind dad loves and cares for his kids, God loves and cares for you.
Saturday morning smells like pancakes, or maybe just quiet sunlight on your blanket. No backpack today, no rushing. You get to stretch, yawn, and think about the whole day stretching out in front of you like a big empty playground.
Did you know God feels about you like the warmest, kindest dad you can imagine? Not a grumpy one, not a too-busy one. One who notices when you scrape your knee, who laughs with you over silly jokes, who is glad just because you exist. That is how God feels about you this morning, even before you have done anything at all.
So today, whether you are building with blocks, riding your bike, or helping set the table for lunch, you are not alone. God is close, happy to be near you.
Your turn
Give someone in your family a hug and tell them one thing you are excited about today.
✦ Lunch moment
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Jesus says the biggest kind of love is when you give up something big to help your friend.
Today might be a lazy Saturday, with games, bike rides, or just hanging around at home. Think about your friends for a second. Maybe one of them always waits for you, or lets you pick the game first, or shares the last cookie without even thinking about it.
Jesus says real love means putting someone else first, even when it costs you something. That does not always mean something huge. It can be small too. Giving up the comfy chair, letting your sister choose the movie, or staying patient when a game does not go your way.
Your turn
This afternoon, do one kind thing for a friend or family member, even if it means giving up your own first choice.
✩ Afternoon moment
Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age, and he made him a tunic of many colors.
Genesis 37:3 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Joseph's father loved him so much that he gave him a special, colorful coat, just for him.
Think about something special that belongs just to you. Maybe a blanket, a toy, or a drawing someone made for you. Joseph's dad gave him a coat with many colors, made just for him, because he loved him so much.
Not everyone in Joseph's family felt loved the same way. His brothers got jealous, because they wanted a special coat too. Maybe you know that feeling, when your brother or sister gets something and you wonder, what about me?
God does not love you a little bit. He loves you completely, today, on this quiet Saturday, just as you are. You do not need a colorful coat to prove it.
Your turn
Today, find one thing you love doing at home, and do it slowly, without rushing, just enjoying it.
☾ Evening moment
He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.
Psalm 91:15 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: When you call out to God, He answers. When things feel scary, He stays close and helps you.
Think about Saturday evenings. Maybe you played outside all afternoon, or helped make dinner, or watched a movie with your family. Now it is getting dark and quiet, and your body is tired in a good way.
Before you fall asleep, you can talk to God, just like you talk to mom or dad. You do not need fancy words. You can just say what happened today, the fun parts and the hard parts. God is listening, and He promises to answer.
He does not fall asleep and forget about you. Even when your eyes close, His eyes stay open over your bed, your house, your whole family. You are never alone in the dark, not even for one second.
Your turn
Tell someone in your family one good thing that happened today before you go to sleep.
