God made you and cares for you

Wonderfully made

Archive For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 139:14, Proverbs 16:24, Daniel 6:22 and Psalm 121:1-2.

☀ The morning moment

I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well.

Psalm 139:14 (WEB)

In simple words: God made you in an amazing way. Every part of you is special, and God is happy with how He made you.

Look at your hands for a second. Wiggle your fingers. Can you believe God thought up every single one of them?

God made your smile, your laugh, the color of your eyes, and the way you run around the playground. He made the way you think and the ideas that pop into your head during class. Nobody else in the whole school is exactly like you. That is not a mistake, that is on purpose.

So when you pack your bag and head out the door, remember: you are one of God's wonderful works. He is glad you are His. Take that with you into your first lesson, into lunch, and onto the way home.

✦ The lunch moment

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Proverbs 16:24 (WEB)

In simple words: Kind words are like honey. They taste sweet and make people feel strong and happy inside.

Think about honey for a second. Sticky, golden, and so sweet it makes your tongue tingle. The Bible says kind words are just like that. When someone tells you, 'I like sitting next to you,' it feels warm inside, right?

You have a whole afternoon ahead. Maybe school, maybe playing, maybe helping at home. You will meet lots of people today. The girl next to you in class. Your little brother. The kid nobody picked for the team.

You get to hand out honey words. Not fake ones, real ones. 'Nice drawing.' 'Want to play?' 'Thanks, mom.' Tiny sentences, but they stick with people. And guess what? Being the honey person feels pretty sweet too.

✩ The afternoon moment

My God has sent His angel, and has shut the lions' mouths, and they have not hurt me; because as before Him innocence was found in me; and also before you, O king, I have done no hurt.

Daniel 6:22 (WEB)

In simple words: Daniel told the king: God sent His angel to close the lions' mouths, so they could not bite me. I did nothing wrong!

Picture a deep pit with hungry lions pacing around. Their claws click on the stone. Their eyes shine in the dark. And there sits Daniel, just sitting, because he prayed to God even when it was against the rules.

All night the king could not sleep. He tossed and turned, worrying. But down in the pit, Daniel was safe. God sent an angel to keep the lions' mouths shut, like a zipper pulled tight.

Maybe today at school something felt scary, a hard test, a kid who was mean, a question you did not know. You are not in a lion pit, but God is with you in the small scary things too. He sees you.

☾ The evening moment

I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2 (WEB)

In simple words: When I look up at the big hills and wonder who will help me, I remember: my help comes from God, who made the whole sky and the whole earth.

Look at your window for a second. Can you see the sky getting darker? Somewhere out there, the stars are already switching on, one by one, like tiny lamps.

The same God who hung every single star knows exactly where your bed is tonight. He knows your name. He knows the pillow you like best, and the sock that always slips off your foot. Nothing about you is too small for Him.

Monday is done. You did what you could today, and that is enough. You don't have to keep watch over the night, because God already does. He never falls asleep. So you can close your eyes, snuggle in, and let your shoulders go soft. You are safe.
