☀ The morning moment
Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?

In simple words: God is like a bright light that helps me see. He keeps me safe and makes me strong, so I don't have to be scared.
Have you ever flicked on the light in a dark room? Suddenly the scary shape in the corner is just your school bag. The monster under your bed is only a sock. Light changes everything.
David, who wrote this song, said God is like that light. When your day feels a little bit dark, maybe there is a spelling test, or a friend was grumpy yesterday, God shines into it. He shows you that you are not alone.
And He is strong. Stronger than a wobbly tummy before class. Stronger than a hard maths sum. As you pull on your shoes today, you can whisper, 'God, You are my light. You are my strength.' Then off you go.
✦ The lunch moment
A glad heart makes a cheerful face; but an aching heart breaks the spirit.

In simple words: When you are happy inside, it shows on your face. A sad heart can make you feel tired and low.
Have you ever noticed that a smile is kind of contagious? Someone grins at you across the lunch table, and before you know it, you are grinning back. You did not even plan it.
This little proverb says our hearts and our faces are connected. When something makes you glad, like a joke from a friend or your favorite sandwich in your lunchbox, your whole face lights up. Other people can see it.
For the rest of Wednesday, try being the one who smiles first. In class, on the playground, at the dinner table tonight. Your cheerful face might help someone whose heart feels heavy today. That is a small gift you can give away for free.
✩ The afternoon moment
He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

In simple words: Jesus lifted the children up, hugged them close, put His hands on their heads, and spoke good words over them.
Picture the dust on the road. Picture tired grown-ups pushing kids to the back, saying, not now, Jesus is busy. But Jesus stops. He kneels down. He opens His arms.
Maybe today at school someone said you were too small, too slow, or too silly. Maybe a grown-up was in a hurry and didn't really listen. That happens. It stings a little.
But Jesus is not like that. He wanted the children close. He held them. He laid His warm hands on their heads and blessed them. If you had been on that road, He would have picked you up too. Right now, even after a long school day, He still says, come here.
☾ The evening moment
I laid myself down and slept. I awakened; for Yahweh sustains me.

In simple words: I lay down and fell asleep. When I woke up again, God was still taking care of me the whole time.
Your pillow is soft under your head. The day is done. Maybe today was a busy Wednesday, with school, and homework, and running around. Maybe some things went great, and some things felt tricky.
All of that can rest now. You do not have to hold it anymore. While you sleep, God is awake. He watches over your room, your house, the people you love. He never gets tired. He never needs a nap.
That is why you can close your eyes without worrying. The same God who was with you when you got up this morning is with you now, tucking the day in around you. Breathe out slowly. You are safe. You are loved. Goodnight.
