God hears you
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 5:3, Proverbs 25:11, Daniel 6:22 and Psalm 23:1.
☀ Morning moment
Yahweh, in the morning you will hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly.
Psalm 5:3 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Every morning God listens when you talk to Him. He wants to hear what is on your mind, even before school.
Your alarm rings, your feet hit the floor, and suddenly there is so much to think about. Shoes to find, breakfast to eat, maybe a test today or a friend you had a small fight with yesterday.
Before any of that, God is already listening. You do not need special words or a quiet church voice. You can just say it, like talking to your mom while she pours the cereal. Nervous about the test? Tell Him. Excited for break time with your friends? Tell Him that too.
God is not far away waking up slowly like you. He is already awake, already listening, already glad to hear your voice first thing.

✦ Lunch moment
A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.

In simple words: A kind word at just the right moment is like a beautiful gift, shiny and precious.
Right now, in the middle of your day, think about the words you have used already. Some words are like little gifts. A word like 'good job' or 'you can sit with me' can make someone's whole lunch better.
Maybe someone at your table looks a bit sad today, or is sitting alone. You do not need a big speech. One small, true, kind word is enough. It can turn a plain lunch into something warm.
God loves it when you use your words like that, like little gold gifts you hand out for free.

✩ Afternoon moment
My God has sent his angel, and has shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not hurt me; because as before him innocence was found in me; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.”

In simple words: Daniel says God sent an angel to close the lions' mouths, so they could not hurt him at all.
Think about a room full of big, growling lions, and you have to walk right in. That is what happened to Daniel. Maybe today felt a bit like that too, a hard test, a mean word at school, or a worry that kept following you around.
Daniel did not fight the lions with his own strength. He trusted God, and God sent an angel to shut their mouths tight. You cannot always see what God is doing, but that does not mean He is doing nothing. He is near, even in the scary, growly parts of your day.

Tell someone at home one thing that felt scary today, and ask them to pray with you about it.
☾ Evening moment
Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing.
Psalm 23:1 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God takes care of you like a shepherd takes care of his sheep. You have everything you need with Him.
Today is over now. Maybe you played outside, maybe you did homework, maybe something was hard. It does not matter anymore. The day is finished, and you can let it go.
Think of a shepherd watching his sheep at night. He does not fall asleep and forget them. He stays close, all night long. God is like that shepherd. While you sleep, He is not sleeping. He watches your room, your street, your whole house.
You do not have to hold onto anything tonight. Not your worries, not your plans for tomorrow. God already has them. You can just breathe out and rest.
