God Is Always With You

God's loving care

3 weeks ago For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Proverbs 3:26, Psalm 145:9, Mark 5:36 and Psalm 139:8.

☀ Morning moment

for Yahweh will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being taken.

Proverbs 3:26 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God says He will be right there with you, keeping you steady so you do not trip or fall.

Right now you are pulling on your socks, maybe still half asleep, and outside the day is waiting for you. Maybe there is a spelling test, or you are not sure if your friend will sit with you at lunch. Your tummy might feel a little wobbly about it.

But here is something good to carry in your school bag today. God is not far away watching from a cloud. He walks right beside you, like a strong hand holding yours when you cross a busy street. He keeps your feet steady, even when the hallway is loud and things feel shaky.

Your turn
Before you leave the house, whisper a quick thank you to God for walking with you today.

✦ Lunch moment

Yahweh is good to all. His tender mercies are over all his works.

Psalm 145:9 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God is good to everyone. He is kind and gentle to everything He made.

Right now, somewhere near you, someone is having lunch too. Maybe your friend is eating a sandwich, maybe your teacher is drinking coffee, maybe your dog is waiting under the table for a crumb. God is kind to all of them, and to you.

You don't have to earn God's kindness. He doesn't only smile at you when you get everything right. He is tender, like when someone bandages your knee carefully instead of rushing.

This afternoon, when you play or work with others, you get to show a little of that same kindness. Give someone the bigger piece, or a real compliment, without keeping score.

Your turn
Share something small from your lunch with someone today.

✩ Afternoon moment

But Jesus, when he heard the message spoken, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Don’t be afraid, only believe.”

Mark 5:36 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: A worried dad had a very sick little girl. Jesus told him, do not be scared, just trust Me.

Think about a moment today when your tummy felt a little jumpy. Maybe waiting for the bell, maybe a math test, maybe wondering if your friend was mad at you. That jumpy feeling is normal.

Jairus felt way more than jumpy. His daughter was dying. People were already saying it was too late. But Jesus looked right at him and said something surprising. Not "relax" or "calm down." He said, do not be afraid, only believe. Jesus was already on His way to help.

You do not have to make your scared feeling disappear by yourself. You can hand it to Jesus, like handing someone a heavy bag. He is strong enough to carry it.

Your turn
Tell one person today what made you a little scared or worried this afternoon.

☾ Evening moment

If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there!

Psalm 139:8 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: No matter where you are, even far away or right here in your own bed, God is already there with you.

Monday is done. Your backpack is by the door, your shoes are kicked off, and the lights in the house are turning soft and low. Maybe today had a spelling test, a fun game at recess, or a small argument with your brother. All of that is finished now.

When you climb into bed and pull up your blanket, you are not alone in the dark. God is already there, before you even lie down. He was with you at school this morning, and He is with you right now, in your quiet room, listening to your breathing get slow.

Your turn
Before you close your eyes, whisper one thing to God about your day, something good or something hard, just tell Him.
