God Leads and Loves You
God's loving guidance
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 143:10, Matthew 7:12, Mark 10:16 and Psalm 23:6.
☀ Morning moment
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.
Psalm 143:10 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God, help me do what is right today. Your Spirit is good, and You will lead me the right way.
Your shoes are on, your bag is packed, and the day is waiting outside the door. Maybe there is a test today, or a friend you had a small fight with, or just a lot of walking and talking and figuring things out.
You do not have to figure it all out alone. God says He will lead you, like a mom walking you across a busy street, or a dad pointing out which path to take on a hike. His Spirit goes with you into the classroom, onto the playground, into every hallway.
So when you are not sure what to do today, you can just ask, quietly, in your head: God, show me the right way. He hears that kind of prayer, even in the middle of math class.
Your turn
Before you leave the house today, whisper this prayer once: God, lead me today.
✦ Lunch moment
Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
Matthew 7:12 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Jesus says: treat other people the way you want them to treat you. That is the big rule.
Think about lunch today. Maybe someone sits alone, or someone drops their tray, or someone forgets their snack. What would you want if that was you?
Jesus gives a simple rule that fits every single moment like that. Do for others what you would want them to do for you. Not just the big things, but the small ones too, like sharing a seat, saying something kind, or letting someone go first in line.
You do not need a long speech to follow this rule. You just need to notice one person near you today, and treat them the way you would love to be treated.
Your turn
Today, save a seat for someone or share something from your lunch with a friend.
✩ Afternoon moment
He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
Mark 10:16 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Jesus picked up the children, hugged them close, and put His hands on them to bless them.
Maybe your backpack feels heavy after school today, and your head is full of spelling tests and playground stuff. Some grown-ups once thought Jesus was too busy and too important for children. But Jesus did the opposite. He picked the kids up, held them close, and put His hands on their heads.
He was not too tired for them, and He is not too tired for you. You do not have to be quiet, neat, or perfect to come near Him. You can bring your whole day, the good parts and the messy parts, and Jesus still wants you close.
Your turn
Today, sit still for a moment and picture Jesus's arms around you, then tell one person at home what that feels like.
☾ Evening moment
Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever.
Psalm 23:6 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God's kindness follows you like a shadow, every single day. You always have a home with Him, even at night.
The week is over now. Your shoes are off, your pajamas are on, and maybe you can still smell dinner in the kitchen. Your body is tired from running, from school, from all the little things that happened today.
Did you know something has been following you all day long? Not a shadow, but God's kindness. It followed you to school, it followed you home, and now it is right here in your room with you. You don't have to find it or chase it. It just stays close, like a good friend who never leaves.
Your turn
Before you close your eyes, whisper one thank you to God for something good that happened today.
