Trusting God With All Your Heart

Trust and Love

2 weeks ago For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Proverbs 3:5, Proverbs 17:9, Mark 2:5 and Psalm 139:18.

☀ Morning moment

Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: You can trust God with your whole heart, even when things feel confusing. He knows the way.

Your shoes are on, your bag is packed, and maybe your stomach feels a little wobbly. New spelling test? Tricky friend stuff? You don't have to figure it all out by yourself this morning.

God says you can trust Him with your whole heart, not just the calm parts, but the wobbly parts too. It's like holding your dad's hand crossing a busy street. You don't need to know every car, you just need to hold on.

When you don't understand something today, a hard sum, a mean word, a mixed up feeling, you can lean on God instead of trying to carry it alone.

Your turn
Before you leave the house, tell God one thing you feel wobbly about today.

✦ Lunch moment

He who covers an offense promotes love; but he who repeats a matter separates best friends.

Proverbs 17:9 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: When a friend makes a mistake, forgiving them keeps you close. Talking about it to everyone can break the friendship.

Think about lunchtime today. Maybe someone bumps your tray, or forgets to save you a seat. It stings for a second, right?

You get to choose what happens next. You could tell the whole table about it, or you could just let it go and keep being friends. Letting go doesn't mean it didn't matter. It means you care more about your friend than about being right.

God is like that with you too. He does not keep bringing up your mistakes. He just loves you and moves forward with you.

Your turn
Today, if a friend does something annoying, try saying nothing about it to anyone else and just keep playing together.

✩ Afternoon moment

Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

Mark 2:5 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Some friends carried a sick man to Jesus. Jesus saw how much they believed, and He healed the man.

Think about a time your friend needed help carrying something heavy, a backpack, a box, or just a hard day at school. Sometimes you cannot fix things alone. That sick man could not even walk. His friends carried him all the way to Jesus, up onto a roof, and lowered him down through a hole.

Jesus did not only look at the sick man. He looked at the friends too. He saw how much they believed, and that mattered to Him. Your friends who help you, who pray for you, who bring you along, they matter to Jesus too.

Your turn
Who is someone you could help carry today, even in a small way? Tell them you are glad to be their friend.

☾ Evening moment

If I would count them, they are more in number than the sand. When I wake up, I am still with you.

Psalm 139:18 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God's thoughts about you are more than all the sand on every beach. When you wake up tomorrow, God will still be right there with you.

Monday is over now. Maybe you had school, maybe homework, maybe a snack and some play before dinner. All of that is behind you now, and your bed is waiting.

Here is something wonderful. God was thinking about you all through today, even when you were busy and didn't notice. More thoughts than grains of sand on a whole beach, that is how many. And He is not going anywhere while you sleep.

Your turn
When you close your eyes tonight, whisper one thing you are glad about today to God, even something tiny like a good lunch or a funny joke.
