Trusting God Brings Blessings
Trusting God
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Proverbs 16:20, Psalm 34:14, John 6:9 and Psalm 91:9-10.
☀ Morning moment
He who heeds the Word finds prosperity. Whoever trusts in Yahweh is blessed.
Proverbs 16:20 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: When you listen to God and trust Him, good things happen and your heart feels light.
Your alarm rings and the room is still gray outside. You pull on your socks, hunt for your other shoe, and gulp down your cereal. Maybe you forgot your homework or your hair will not sit flat. Mornings can feel like a rush before you even get out the door.
But before your feet hit the hallway, God is already awake with you. He knows this whole day, the spelling test, the lunch table, the walk home with your friends. When you trust Him like today's verse says, you do not carry the day alone. He walks right beside you, from breakfast to your classroom chair.
Your turn
Before you leave the house today, whisper one quiet thank You to God for this new day.
✦ Lunch moment
Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it.
Psalm 34:14 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Turn away from bad things and choose to do good instead. Look for peace, and chase after it like a game.
Maybe this morning someone pushed in line, or a friend said something not so nice. It happens. Lunchtime is a good moment to press the reset button.
God does not just say stay calm and wait for peace to show up. He says go find it, chase it, like you chase a ball at recess. That might mean sitting with the kid who is alone, or saying sorry first, even if it was not only your fault.
Your turn
This afternoon, if there is a little argument, be the one who looks for peace instead of adding to the noise. Say one kind word to someone you usually do not talk to much.
✩ Afternoon moment
“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these among so many?”
John 6:9 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: A boy had five small loaves of bread and two fish. It didn't seem like enough to feed all those hungry people.
School is out, and your stomach is growling. You open your backpack and find one small snack, barely enough for you, let alone anyone else.
A boy once stood in a huge crowd with just five little loaves and two small fish. Everyone thought it was nothing. But he gave it to Jesus anyway. Jesus took that small lunch and fed thousands of people, with food left over.
Your turn
You might think you have too little to share, too little time, too little to give. But Jesus can do big things with small gifts. Today, share one snack or one toy with someone, even if it feels like it's not enough.
☾ Evening moment
Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.
Psalm 91:9-10 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: When you make God your safe place, He watches over your home like a strong wall. Nothing bad can get past Him.
Friday is over. Your school bag is by the door, your shoes are kicked off, and the whole weekend is waiting. Maybe you played outside until it got dark, or you are still a little bit buzzing from the week.
Now it is time to slow down. Think of your house like a little nest, with walls around it and a roof on top. God is bigger than any wall. He wraps around your whole home while you are brushing your teeth, while you are climbing into bed, while your eyes get heavy. Nothing can sneak past Him to hurt you. You can breathe out. You are safe tonight, just like every night, because He is watching.
Your turn
Before you close your eyes, whisper one quiet thank you to God for something good from today.
