Praise God All Day Long
Praise all day
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 92:2, Psalm 34:1, Luke 5:13 and Proverbs 3:24.
☀ Morning moment
to proclaim your loving kindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night,
Psalm 92:2 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Every morning you can tell God how kind He is, and every night you can remember He never changes.
Saturday morning smells like pancakes, or maybe just your pillow a little longer than usual. No backpack today, no rushing. You can stretch, look out the window, and just breathe.
But even on a slow day, God is already awake with you. He was kind to you yesterday, and He is kind to you right now, before you've even brushed your teeth. That never changes, whether you're building blocks, riding your bike, or helping set the table for lunch.
Your turn
Tonight, before bed, tell someone in your family one good thing that happened today.
✦ Lunch moment
I will bless Yahweh at all times. His praise will always be in my mouth.
Psalm 34:1 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: David says he wants to thank God all the time, not just when things go well.
Maybe you slept in a bit today, or had pancakes with extra syrup. Saturdays feel different, slower, cozier. You have time to play a game, ride your bike, or just do nothing for a while.
It is easy to say thank you when something exciting happens, like a present or a goal in soccer. But David in this verse wants to say thank you to God all the time, even on a plain, quiet Saturday. Not because everything is perfect, but because God is always good, even in small, ordinary moments like lunch, laundry, or a nap on the couch.
Your turn
Today, say thank you to God for one small thing you see around you right now, out loud or quietly in your heart.
✩ Afternoon moment
He stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately the leprosy left him.
Luke 5:13 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: A sick man asked Jesus to make him well. Jesus reached out and touched him, and right away the sickness was gone.
Imagine nobody wants to sit next to you, nobody wants to hold your hand, because everyone is scared of your sickness. That is how it was for the man in this story. People kept far away from him for years.
☾ Evening moment
When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.
Proverbs 3:24 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: When you lie down to sleep, you do not need to be scared. Your sleep can be soft and peaceful, because God is near.
Saturday evenings feel different, don't they? Maybe you played outside all afternoon, or watched a movie with your family, or helped set the table for a cozy dinner. Now the day is slowing down, and soon it will be time to close your eyes.
Some nights your head is full of thoughts, about tomorrow, about a friend, about something silly that happened today. God knows all of that. He is not far away in the sky somewhere. He is right there next to your bed, watching over you like a parent checking one last time before leaving the room.
You don't have to hold onto your worries tonight. You can let them go, like dropping a heavy bag on the floor. God will carry them for you while you sleep.
Your turn
Before you close your eyes tonight, whisper one thing you're thankful for from today.
