God's Love Fills Our Day
God's Faithful Love
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 90:14, Ecclesiastes 4:9, 1 Samuel 17:50 and Psalm 91:14.
☀ Morning moment
Satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Psalm 90:14 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God wants to fill you up with His love right when you wake up, so you can feel happy all day.
Your alarm goes off, and for a second everything is quiet. Then you remember, school today, maybe a math test, maybe lunch with your friends. Before your feet even hit the floor, God is already there. He is not waiting somewhere far away, He is right beside your bed.
Think about how good it feels when someone fills your cup all the way to the top with your favorite juice. That is what God wants to do with His love this morning, fill you up completely, so there is enough to share with your little brother who is annoying, or with the kid who sits alone at lunch.
Your turn
Before you leave the house today, whisper a quick thank you to God for this new morning.
✦ Lunch moment
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.
Ecclesiastes 4:9 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Doing things together is better than doing them alone. Friends help each other and make work lighter.
Look around you at lunch. Is there someone eating alone, or someone who forgot their fork, or someone who just looks a bit sad? Small things like that are easy to miss when you are busy with your own sandwich.
God made us to need each other. Even carrying a heavy backpack is easier when a friend carries one side. Even a hard math problem gets less scary when you figure it out together. That is exactly what this Bible verse means: two are better than one.
Your turn
You do not have to fix everyone's problems today. Just notice one person near you, and do one small kind thing for them, like sharing a snack, saving them a seat, or asking how their morning was.
✩ Afternoon moment
So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and struck the Philistine, and killed him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.
1 Samuel 17:50 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: David beat the huge, scary Philistine using only a sling and one small stone, no sword at all.
Think about today. Maybe there was a math test that felt like a giant, or a kid at school who seemed too big to stand up to. David felt small too. The Philistine was enormous, and David was just a shepherd boy with a bag of stones.
But David did not need a sword or armor. He had five smooth stones and he had God. That was enough. The giant fell down, and everyone was amazed that such a small boy could do something so big.
You do not need to be the biggest or strongest either. God can use small things, a kind word, a shared snack, a quiet prayer, to do something big today.
Your turn
Tell someone at home about one small thing that felt big to you today.
☾ Evening moment
“Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name.
Psalm 91:14 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God says, because you love me, I will keep you safe and lift you up close to me.
Tonight your room is quiet. Maybe you hear the fridge humming, or your brother breathing in the next bed, or just your own heart beating softly. It is dark, but you are not alone.
God says something so warm tonight. He says, because you love me, I will keep you safe. Think about that. God is not far away in space somewhere. He is right here, close to your pillow, close to your favorite blanket. He knows your name, the way mom knows exactly which cup you like for breakfast.
You do not have to stay awake and watch over yourself. God is already watching. Your job tonight is just to close your eyes and rest.
Your turn
Before you fall asleep, whisper one thing to God that made you smile today.
