Trust God With Your Whole Heart
Trust and comfort
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Proverbs 3:6, Proverbs 15:30, Mark 10:52 and Psalm 23:4.
☀ Morning moment
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:6 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Whatever you do today, remember God is with you. He will help you find the right way.
Your shoes are on, your backpack is packed, and the day is waiting for you. Maybe there is a test today, or you are not sure who you will sit with at lunch. Maybe it is just an ordinary Thursday, with math and recess and walking home again.
You do not have to figure everything out by yourself. Before you even leave the house, you can tell God about your day. You can say, God, You know what is coming, please walk with me. He hears that, even if you whisper it while tying your shoelaces.
God is not far away in the sky somewhere. He goes with you into the classroom, onto the playground, into every conversation. He knows the way, and He will help you find it, step by step.
Your turn
Before you leave for school, say one sentence to God about your day, out loud or quietly.
✦ Lunch moment
The light of the eyes rejoices the heart. Good news gives health to the bones.
Proverbs 15:30 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: When you see something happy, your heart feels glad. Good news even makes your whole body feel better.
Think about your morning so far. Maybe someone smiled at you, or you found your favorite snack in your lunchbox. Small things like that can make your whole day feel brighter, just like this Proverb says.
Good news works the same way. When a friend tells you something fun, or your teacher says you did well, you feel it everywhere, not just in your head. Your shoulders relax, you smile, you even walk differently.
You can be that good news for someone else too. A kind word at lunch, a funny joke, or just noticing someone who looks a little sad can light up their day.
Your turn
Today, say one happy or kind thing to a friend or classmate at lunch.
✩ Afternoon moment
Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus on the way.
Mark 10:52 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Jesus told the blind man that his trust in Him had healed him. Right away the man could see, and he followed Jesus.
Did you look at anything really closely today? Maybe a bug on the playground, or the clouds on your walk home. Seeing things is such a normal part of your day, you almost forget how amazing it is.
There was a man named Bartimaeus who could not see at all. He sat by the road every day, hearing footsteps but never faces. When Jesus came near, he called out loudly, even though people told him to be quiet. Jesus stopped for him. He asked what he wanted, and then He healed him. Just like that, colors and faces and roads appeared for the first time.
Bartimaeus did not walk away. He followed Jesus. When Jesus does something good for you, you get to stay close to Him too, like a friend walking beside you.
Your turn
Today, look at something for one whole minute, really look, and say thank You to Jesus for your eyes.
☾ Evening moment
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Even in the dark, scary places, you don't have to be afraid. God is right there with you, keeping you safe.
Maybe your room gets dark and quiet at night. Sometimes shadows on the wall look a little strange, or the house makes small creaking sounds. That is okay. You are not alone in the dark.
God is like a shepherd who walks right beside His sheep, even through the darkest paths. He does not leave when the lights go off. He stays close all night long, watching over you while you sleep, just like He watched over you all day at school and at home.
You do not need to figure everything out or stay awake worrying. You can simply rest, because Someone bigger than the dark is holding you.
Your turn
Before you close your eyes, whisper one thing to God that made you smile today.
