God Loves His Family Together
God's family love
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 26:8, Hebrews 10:25, Ruth 1:16 and Luke 12:6-7.
☀ Morning moment
Yahweh, I love the habitation of your house, the place where your glory dwells.
Psalm 26:8 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: This person tells God, I love being in Your house, the place where You are close to us.
You wake up and it feels different today. No school bag, no rushing. It is Sunday, the day for church, for singing, for seeing your church friends again.
Maybe you get to sit next to grandma, or wave at a friend across the room, or sing a song so loud your voice cracks. God loves that. He is not far away in a cloud somewhere, He is right there with His people, in the songs, in the prayers, even in the noisy bit before it starts.
Your turn
Today, tell someone at church one thing you are glad about, and give them a big smile.
✦ Lunch moment
not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:25 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God's people love meeting together, especially on Sundays, to cheer each other on and grow strong in faith.
Today is Sunday, a day for gathering. Maybe you sang songs at church this morning, or sat next to grandma, or shook hands with someone you know.
Did you notice how good it feels to be together? Nobody was made to do everything alone, not even you. That is why churches are full of people, not empty rooms.
Sometimes gathering is loud, sometimes it is quiet, but it always matters. Even at lunch, sitting with your family around the table is a small kind of gathering too.
Your turn
This afternoon, tell someone in your family one thing you liked about being together today.
✩ Afternoon moment
Ruth said, “Don’t urge me to leave you, and to return from following you, for where you go, I will go; and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God my God.
Ruth 1:16 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Ruth told Naomi she would go wherever Naomi went and stay with her, and that Naomi's God would be her God too.
Think of someone you really love being close to, maybe grandma, a best friend, or your mom. Does it feel strange when you have to say goodbye, even for a little while?
Ruth felt that way about Naomi. She could have gone back home alone, but she chose to stay close instead. She said, wherever you go, I will go too, and your God will be my God. That is a big kind of love, the kind that stays.
Your turn
Today, sit close to someone in your family for a few minutes and tell them one reason you are glad they are yours.
☾ Evening moment
“Aren’t five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God. But the very hairs of your head are all counted. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
Luke 12:6-7 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God even remembers every tiny bird. He knows you even better, down to every hair on your head. So you never need to be afraid.
Today was Sunday, maybe you sang at church, or played quietly at home with the people you love. Now the day is almost done, and the house is getting quiet.
Did you know God was watching over you the whole day? Not just the big moments, but the small ones too, when you laughed, when you were a little scared, when you ran outside to play. Jesus said God even knows about the little birds. He never forgets them. And you matter to Him even more than they do. You do not have to hold onto any worry tonight. You can let it go, because God is holding you.
Your turn
Before you close your eyes tonight, whisper one thing you were happy about today to God.
