Sing with Joy, Trust God Always

Joy and Trust

1 weeks ago For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 100:2, Proverbs 12:25, 1 Samuel 17:49 and Psalm 91:4.

☀ Morning moment

Serve Yahweh with gladness. Come before his presence with singing.

Psalm 100:2 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Be happy when you do things for God, and sing because He is near you.

No alarm clock today, no backpack by the door. Maybe you can smell pancakes, or hear someone already laughing downstairs. Saturday mornings feel different, slower, full of time to play.

God loves mornings like this too. He is not only happy when you sit quietly in church. He is glad when you hum a song while you feed the dog, help carry the laundry, or build something with your blocks. Every happy little thing you do today can be like a small song for Him.

Your turn
So today, while you help set the table or tidy your room, hum or sing one happy song out loud.

✦ Lunch moment

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad.

Proverbs 12:25 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: When someone feels worried, a kind word can make their heart feel light and happy again.

Maybe you are sitting at the table right now, eating your lunch on this lazy Saturday. Look around you. Is someone at the table a little quiet, or maybe grumpy because a game did not go their way?

A worry or a bad mood can feel like a heavy backpack. You cannot always carry it for someone else, but you can help. One good word, one smile, one little joke, and the backpack feels lighter already. That is how God made words to work.

Your turn
This afternoon, say one cheerful, kind thing to someone in your house, and watch their face change.

✩ Afternoon moment

David put his hand in his bag, took a stone, and slung it, and struck the Philistine in his forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.

1 Samuel 17:49 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: David had only a sling and one small stone. He threw it, and the giant Goliath fell down.

Maybe this afternoon you are playing outside, building something, or just hanging around at home. Think about David for a moment. He was just a boy, not a big strong soldier. The giant Goliath was huge and scary, but David was not alone. God was with him, even though nobody could see God standing there.

Sometimes you face something that feels like a giant too. A hard conversation, a fear in the dark, a problem that feels too big for your hands. You do not need armor or a sword. You just need to remember who is on your side.

Your turn
Today, tell someone at home about something that feels big or scary to you, even something small.

☾ Evening moment

He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.

Psalm 91:4 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God covers you like a bird covers its babies with warm feathers. He keeps you safe all night long.

Today was a Saturday, a day with no rush. Maybe you played outside, helped bake something, or just lay on the couch doing nothing much. Tomorrow is Sunday, church day, and your pillow is already waiting for you.

Think of a mother bird sitting over her babies in the nest. The wind can blow, the rain can fall, but the little birds stay warm and dry under her wings. That is what God is like for you tonight. You do not have to hold yourself together. He is holding you.

You do not need to check under the bed or worry about the dark. God never gets sleepy, never looks away, never forgets where you are. His love is like a wall around your bed, soft and strong at the same time.

Your turn
Before you close your eyes, whisper one thank you to God for something good from today.
