God's love fills the whole earth

God's loving kindness

Archive For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 33:5, Matthew 7:12, Luke 17:15-16 and Psalm 23:6.

☀ Morning moment

He loves righteousness and justice. The earth is full of the loving kindness of Yahweh.

Psalm 33:5 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God loves what is good and fair. And His kind love fills the whole world, everywhere you look.

Look out the window for just a second. What do you see? Maybe a tree waving its branches, a bird hopping across the grass, or clouds sailing past like slow ships.

The Bible says the whole earth is full of God's love. That means His love is spread everywhere, like butter on warm toast. It is in your clean socks, in the breakfast on your plate, in the friend who saves you a seat, in the sound of your family moving around the house.

So today, when you walk into your classroom, you are not walking into an empty room. God's love got there before you did. It is waiting in the hallway, at the lunch table, out on the playground. See how many pieces of it you can spot.

✦ Lunch moment

Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.

Matthew 7:12 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Jesus says: treat other people the way you would like them to treat you. That is the heart of everything God asks.

Think about the best thing someone could do for you today. Maybe save you a seat. Maybe share half a cookie. Maybe just say your name in a friendly voice.

Jesus gives you a simple trick. Whatever you wish someone would do for you, go and do that for someone else first. You do not have to wait until you feel like it. You can start while you are still chewing your lunch.

It is Wednesday, so half the week is behind you and half is still ahead. There is plenty of time. One kind word to the kid nobody talks to. One turn given away in the game. Small things, but Jesus says this is the whole heart of what God wants.

✩ Afternoon moment

One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice. He fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan.

Luke 17:15-16 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Ten sick men were made better by Jesus. Only one came running back to say thank you, and he knelt right down at Jesus' feet.

Imagine sores all over your skin. Nobody hugs you. Nobody sits beside you. That was life for ten men who had to live outside the town, far away from everybody they loved.

Jesus sent them off to the priests. While they were walking, their skin turned clean and new. Ten men, all better. But only one of them stopped, spun around, and ran back shouting thank You to God. He knelt right down in front of Jesus.

The other nine stayed healed. Jesus did not take it back. But that one man got something extra. He got to be close to Jesus, face to face. Turning back is never too late. You can do it today, right after school, in your own room.

☾ Evening moment

Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever.

Psalm 23:6 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God's kindness follows me every single day, and I get to live safe in His house forever.

Have you ever noticed how a dog follows you everywhere, right into the kitchen, right up the stairs? David says something follows him like that. Not a dog. God's goodness.

Think back over today, this Wednesday. Maybe someone shared a snack with you. Maybe you found the sock you lost. Maybe the sun was warm on your arms. Those are little bits of God's goodness, walking behind you all day long, even when you did not notice them.

And now the day is finished. You can lie down. God's goodness does not go home when the lights go out. It stays right beside your bed. You are safe in His house, tonight and always. Sleep well.
