God hears and loves you

God's loving care

Archive For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 143:8, Proverbs 16:20, Mark 10:51-52 and Psalm 139:17-18.

☀ The morning moment

Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you.

Psalm 143:8 (WEB)

In simple words: God, let me feel Your love this morning. I trust You. Show me the right way to go today, because my heart looks up to You.

Look at your feet for a second. Socks on? Shoes nearby? Those feet are about to walk into a whole new day. Maybe to the breakfast table first, then to the car or the bike, then into school.

The person who wrote this song asked God two things in the morning. First: help me feel Your love today. Second: show me which way to walk. That is a really good prayer for a Monday.

God loves hearing from you before your day even starts. He knows what is waiting for you, the spelling test, the friend who was grumpy on Friday, the football at break. You do not walk into any of it alone. His kindness walks with you, step by step.

✦ The lunch moment

He who heeds the Word finds prosperity. Whoever trusts in Yahweh is blessed.

Proverbs 16:20 (WEB)

In simple words: When you listen to what God says and trust Him, good things follow. God takes care of people who lean on Him.

Halfway through the day already! Maybe your morning had a tricky spelling test, or a friend who was grumpy at the bus stop. Maybe it was pretty great. Either way, you made it to lunch.

This little verse says something cool. When you listen to God's words and trust Him, you find something good. Not always candy or presents. Sometimes it's peace inside, or courage to be kind, or the feeling that you are not alone at your table.

So while you munch your sandwich, you can whisper a quick thank You to God. He hears you between bites. And He walks with you into the second half of your day, ready for math class, recess, or whatever comes next.

✩ The afternoon moment

Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “Rabboni, that I may see again.” Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus on the way.

Mark 10:51-52 (WEB)

In simple words: Jesus asked a blind man what he wanted. The man said, "I want to see!" And right away, Jesus healed his eyes.

Imagine standing by a dusty road after school. People are pushing past. You cannot see anything, only hear voices and sandals slapping the ground. That was Bartimaeus. He was blind, and he sat by the road every day.

Then Jesus walked by. Bartimaeus shouted so loud that people told him to be quiet. But Jesus stopped. He asked one simple question: what do you want Me to do for you?

Jesus asks you too. Not in a loud voice, but quietly, inside. Maybe you want courage for tomorrow's test. Maybe you want a friend. Maybe you just want to feel safe tonight. You can tell Him. He is never too busy to stop for you.

☾ The evening moment

How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is their sum! If I would count them, they are more in number than the sand. When I wake up, I am still with you.

Psalm 139:17-18 (WEB)

In simple words: God thinks about you more times than there are grains of sand on the beach. And when you wake up in the morning, He is still right there with you.

Have you ever tried to count the stars through your window? You start, and then you lose count. There are just too many.

That is how many times God thinks about you. More than the stars. More than the sand on every beach in the world. Right now, as you pull the blanket up, He is thinking of you. He knows the funny thing that happened today. He knows the tricky bit too.

And here is the best part. When you close your eyes tonight, He stays. When you wake up tomorrow morning, He will still be right there. You do not have to hold on tight. He is holding you.
