God Cares For You

God's care

Archive For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Matthew 6:33, Proverbs 15:17, John 5:8 and Psalm 121:2.

☀ Morning moment

But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:33 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Jesus says to think of God first each day. Then God will take care of everything else you need.

Your shoes are on, your bag is by the door, and there is so much to remember. Homework, lunch, that thing you promised to bring for your friend.

But before all of that, you can think of God first. Not last, not if there is time left over, but first, right now, while you are still buttoning your shirt.

Jesus says when you put God first, He takes care of the rest. The maths test, the walk to school, the friend who was grumpy yesterday, God already knows about all of it. You do not have to carry it alone.

Your turn
Whisper a quick good morning to God before you walk out the door today.

✦ Lunch moment

Better is a dinner of herbs, where love is, than a fattened calf with hatred.

Proverbs 15:17 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: A small plain lunch shared with love is better than a big fancy meal where people are mean to each other.

Look at your lunch for a second. Maybe it is a sandwich, maybe soup, maybe just an apple. It does not really matter what is on your plate.

What matters more is who is around the table. A tiny lunch with a friend who laughs with you feels better than a huge feast next to someone grumpy. God cares about the love at the table, not how fancy the food looks.

Your turn
Today, sit with someone at lunch who is often alone, or say something kind to the person next to you while you eat.

✩ Afternoon moment

Jesus said to him, “Arise, take up your mat, and walk.”

John 5:8 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Jesus told a man who could not walk for years to stand up and walk. And the man did.

Have you ever waited a really long time for something? Maybe waiting for a birthday, or for a scraped knee to heal. The man by the pool had waited thirty eight years to get better. Thirty eight years is longer than your mom and dad have been alive.

Jesus did not need magic water or a long line. He just looked at the man and said, get up. And the man's legs, that had not worked in years, suddenly worked. He rolled up his mat and walked home on his own two feet.

Jesus still notices the people others walk past. He saw one man in a whole crowd of sick people. You are never too small or too stuck for Him to notice you too.

Your turn
Today, think of someone who feels left out or forgotten, and go say hello to them.

☾ Evening moment

My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:2 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God made the whole big sky and the whole earth. That same God is ready to help you, right now and all through the night.

Your pajamas are on, your teeth are brushed, and the room is getting dark. Maybe your school bag is already packed for tomorrow, waiting by the door. It is time to stop moving and just be still.

Think about this. The same God who hung the moon up in the sky and planted every mountain is the One watching over your little room tonight. He is not far away or too busy. He is close, like a dad checking one more time that the door is locked before everyone sleeps.

Your turn
Before you close your eyes, whisper one thank you to God for something good that happened today.
