Sing and Trust God Today

Praise and Trust

1 weeks ago For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 96:2, Psalm 136:26, Mark 10:14 and Psalm 91:12.

☀ Morning moment

Sing to Yahweh! Bless his name! Proclaim his salvation from day to day!

Psalm 96:2 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Sing to God today. Say nice things about Him and tell others how good He is.

It is Sunday, a day to rest and be happy with God. Maybe you are putting on your favorite shirt for church, or you hear your family humming a song in the kitchen. That is a perfect start.

You do not need a big voice or perfect words to sing to God. You can hum while you brush your teeth, clap during a song at church, or just whisper thank You in your heart. God loves hearing from you, every single day, not just on Sunday.

Today is also a day to tell someone else something good about God. Maybe grandma does not know the funny prayer you made up, or your little brother has never heard your favorite worship song.

Your turn
Sing one line of a song you know about God out loud today, even if it is just to yourself.

✦ Lunch moment

Oh give thanks to the God of heaven; for his loving kindness endures forever.

Psalm 136:26 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Say thank you to God in heaven, because His love never runs out, not even for one day.

Sunday lunch smells different, doesn't it? Maybe there's a special meal, or everyone sits together a little longer than usual. It is a good day to notice things you are glad about.

Sometimes we only say thank you for big things, like a birthday present. But God loves it when you notice small things too. The bread on your plate, your mom's voice, the sunlight on the table. All of that comes from Him, and His love for you never stops, not even for a second.

Your turn
Today after church or during lunch, tell someone at the table one small thing you are thankful for, out loud.

✩ Afternoon moment

But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, “Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.

Mark 10:14 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Jesus wanted children to come close to Him. He said nobody should stop them, because they belong right there with Him.

Maybe this morning you sat in church, or sang a song, or folded your hands to pray. Sometimes grown-up things feel far away from you, like you are too small to really belong there. But Jesus never thought that about children.

When people tried to send the children away so Jesus could talk to important grown-ups, He stopped them. He said, let them come to Me. He did not wave you off to the side. He pulled you close, just as you are, with your questions and your wiggly energy and your loud laugh.

Your turn
This afternoon, tell someone at home one thing you liked about today, like a song, a prayer, or a hug after church.

☾ Evening moment

They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone.

Psalm 91:12 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God's angels gently hold you so you don't trip or fall, even when you can't see them.

Today was Sunday, a day for singing and being together at church, maybe holding mom's hand during the songs or sitting close to dad during the prayer. Now the lights are getting soft and the house is quiet again.

Think about your own two feet for a moment. They walked you to church this morning, maybe ran around outside this afternoon, and now they are tucked under your blanket. All day long, without you even noticing, God was watching over every step you took.

Your turn
You don't have to hold yourself up tonight. God's hands are under you, gentle and strong, like someone who never gets tired of holding on. Before you close your eyes, whisper one thank you to God for something good from today.
