A Joyful Day with God
Joyful Faith
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 118:24, Proverbs 17:17, Mark 5:34 and Psalm 139:4.
☀ Morning moment
This is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!
Psalm 118:24 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God made this new day just for you. He wants you to be happy and enjoy it.
Your shoes are by the door, your bag is packed, and maybe your toast is still warm. A brand new day is standing right in front of you, and nobody has used it yet. Not one single minute of it.
God made this exact Tuesday. He thought of it before you woke up. He knew about your spelling test, your best friend waiting at the gate, the game you will play at recess. None of it surprises Him, and He is already there in all of it.
You do not have to feel brave all by yourself. God gives you this day like a gift, wrapped up and ready, and He smiles as you open it. Even the ordinary parts, tying your shoes, walking to school, count as part of His gift.
Your turn
Before you leave the house today, say out loud, "Thank You God for this day," even if you are still in your pajamas.
✦ Lunch moment
A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity.
Proverbs 17:17 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: A real friend loves you all the time, not just on good days. Friends stick together, even when things get hard.
Think about lunchtime today. Maybe you sit with the same person every day, or maybe someone new sits down next to you. A real friend is not just someone to laugh with when everything is fun. A real friend stays close when you drop your tray, when you get the answer wrong, or when you feel sad.
You can be that kind of friend too. You do not need to be perfect or say the exact right words. Sometimes just staying next to someone, or sharing half your sandwich, says enough.
Your turn
This afternoon, do one small thing for a friend: save them a seat, share something, or simply ask how their day is going.
✩ Afternoon moment
He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease.”
Mark 5:34 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: A sick woman touched Jesus' clothes and was healed. Jesus told her kindly that her trust in Him made her well.
Think about a crowded hallway at school, everyone pushing to get to the next class. It is easy to feel small there, like nobody would notice if you disappeared. There was a woman like that once. She had been sick for years, and nobody in the crowd saw her, except Jesus.
She only touched the edge of His coat, just a tiny touch, and that was enough. Jesus stopped. He turned around in that busy crowd and looked for her. He did not walk past her like she was nobody. He called her "daughter", which means He loved her like family.
You are never just a face in the crowd to Jesus. He sees you even when you feel small or invisible.
Your turn
Tonight, tell someone at home about a moment today when you felt unnoticed.
☾ Evening moment
For there is not a word on my tongue, but, behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether.
Psalm 139:4 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Before you even say your prayer, God already knows every word in your heart.
Think about today. Maybe you laughed at lunch, or maybe something made you a little sad on the way home. You do not have to explain all of that to God tonight. He already knows it, every bit of it, before you even open your mouth.
That is such a good feeling when you are tired. You do not need the perfect words for your prayer. You can just whisper "thank you" or "help me" or even just think it quietly under your blanket, and God already understands completely.
Your turn
Tonight, before you close your eyes, just say one simple thing to God, out loud or quietly, about how your day really was.
