Trust God, He Cares for You
Trust God's Care
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 37:5, Psalm 105:1, Luke 19:5 and Psalm 121:7.
☀ Morning moment
Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this:
Psalm 37:5 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Give your whole day to God. Trust Him, and He will help you with everything.
You are pulling on your socks, maybe still a bit sleepy, and already thinking about everything today holds. A spelling test, a friend you want to sit with, a bike ride after school. So much to carry before you have even had breakfast.
But you do not have to carry it alone. God already knows this whole day, every minute of it. You can simply give it to Him, like handing Him your backpack before you walk out the door.
Your turn
Before you leave the house today, whisper to God: this day is Yours.
✦ Lunch moment
Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name! Make his doings known among the peoples.
Psalm 105:1 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Say thank you to God and tell other people about the good things He has done.
Maybe there is a sandwich in front of you right now, or soup still steaming. Before you take another bite, think for a second. Something good already happened today, even if it was small. A friend shared their pencil. The sun came out. You laughed at something silly.
God loves it when you notice those little good things. He is not far away watching from a distance. He is right there with you at the table, in the hallway, on the playground. When you say thank you, you are talking straight to Him.
Telling someone about the good things that happen makes the good feel even bigger, like it grows when you share it. It also reminds the people around you that good things are happening too.
Your turn
Turn to someone near you right now and tell them one good thing that happened to you today.
✩ Afternoon moment
When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
Luke 19:5 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Jesus looked up into the tree and saw Zacchaeus. He called him by name and said He wanted to come to His house today.
Think about a day when nobody really noticed you, maybe you felt small in a big crowd of kids at school. Zacchaeus felt that way too. He was short, so he climbed a tree just to see Jesus over everyone's heads.
But Jesus did something surprising. He stopped. He looked up. He said Zacchaeus's actual name, like He already knew him. Out of a whole street full of people, Jesus picked him out and wanted to spend time at His house.
Jesus still notices the one person others might walk past. You are never just part of a crowd to Him, He knows your name too.
Your turn
Tonight, tell someone at home one thing that made you feel noticed today.
☾ Evening moment
Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul.
Psalm 121:7 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God keeps you safe from anything bad. He takes care of your whole heart, even while you sleep.
Think about your bed right now. Maybe your blanket is soft, maybe your room is a little dark. Today was full of things, maybe spelling words, maybe a fight with your brother, maybe a good snack after school. All of that is behind you now.
God did not go to sleep today. He was watching you at breakfast, at school, at dinner, and He is watching you right now. You do not have to hold onto the day anymore. You can just let it go, like opening your hands and dropping a heavy bag.
Your turn
Before you close your eyes, whisper one thing to God that happened today, something good or something hard.
