Sing of God's Faithful Love
God's faithful love
Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 89:1, Proverbs 16:24, 1 Samuel 17:37 and Psalm 121:1.
☀ Morning moment
I will sing of the loving kindness of Yahweh forever. With my mouth, I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 89:1 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: God's love never stops, not even for a second. You can tell others how faithful and kind He is.
Your shoes are on, your bag is packed, and maybe you are still chewing your last bite of toast. Friday mornings can feel rushed, with lunchboxes to grab and hair to brush. But right in the middle of all that hurry, something quiet and strong is true about you.
God's love for you did not run out overnight. It is not tired, it is not used up. Like the sun that comes up again and again, His kindness keeps shining on you, whether you are at your desk, on the playground, or walking through the school gate.
Your turn
Before you leave the house today, tell one person at home one thing you are thankful for this morning.
✦ Lunch moment
Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
Proverbs 16:24 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: Kind words are like sweet honey. They make people feel good inside, from their heart all the way to their toes.
It is Friday, and the week is almost done. Maybe you are tired, or maybe you are excited because the weekend is close. Either way, you still get to choose your words today.
Think about your lunch table. Someone might look lonely, or someone might have had a rough morning. One kind sentence can change their whole afternoon, just like honey makes everything taste better. Words like that do not cost anything, but they feel like a gift.
You do not need fancy words. Just "I like sitting with you" or "that was a great answer" is enough. Honey works in small drops too.
Your turn
Say one kind, honest sentence to someone at lunch today.
✩ Afternoon moment
David said, “Yahweh who delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go! Yahweh will be with you.”
1 Samuel 17:37 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: David remembered how God kept him safe from a lion and a bear. He knew God would help him again against the giant.
Think about something that scared you today. Maybe it was a big dog, a hard test, or a kid who was mean on the playground. Your tummy got that funny nervous feeling, didn't it?
David felt scared too, before he fought the giant Goliath. But he remembered something important. He remembered how God had helped him before, when a lion and a bear attacked his sheep. God had kept him safe then, so David believed God would help him again now.
Your turn
You have your own stories too, little moments when things turned out okay even though you were scared. Tell mom or dad about one scary moment you remember, and how it turned out okay.
☾ Evening moment
I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from?
Psalm 121:1 (World English Bible (WEB))
In simple words: When you wonder who will take care of you, look up. Your help comes from God.
Friday is over now. School bag in the corner, shoes kicked off, maybe you are already in your pajamas. Your head is full of today, the games at recess, the math test, the walk home when it started to rain.
Before you close your eyes, lift them up for a moment. Not to the ceiling, but to God. He was there this morning when you woke up, He was there all through today, and He is here now, in your room, next to your bed. You don't have to figure everything out by yourself. You don't have to stay awake worrying about tomorrow. God is already awake, watching over you, and He never gets tired of it.
Your turn
Tonight, whisper one thing to God that happened today, something good or something that felt hard, and then let your head rest on your pillow.
