God hears and cares for you

God cares

Archive For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 5:3, Proverbs 17:1, Luke 8:43-44 and Psalm 23:1.

☀ The morning moment

Yahweh, in the morning you will hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly.

Psalm 5:3 (WEB)

In simple words: In the morning God listens when you talk to Him. You can tell Him everything, and then wait to see what good things He will do.

Guess what? It's Saturday! No alarm rushing you, no lunchbox to pack. Maybe you can smell pancakes, or hear cartoons already playing in the living room.

Before you jump into the day, listen to what the psalm says. God is up too. He is already awake and ready to hear your voice. You can whisper Him a good morning while you're still under your warm blanket. You can tell Him about the bike ride you want to go on, or the LEGO tower you plan to finish, or the little brother who is being loud again.

Then watch. God loves surprising His kids with small good things throughout a Saturday.

✦ The lunch moment

Better is a dry morsel with quietness, than a house full of feasting with strife.

Proverbs 17:1 (WEB)

In simple words: A small piece of bread eaten in peace is better than a huge feast in a house full of arguing.

Imagine two lunch tables. On one there is a mountain of pizza, ice cream and chips, but everyone is grumpy and shouting. On the other there is just a plain sandwich, but everyone is laughing together. Which table would you pick?

The Bible says the plain sandwich table wins. Every time. Because peace tastes better than pepperoni. A calm home feels better than a fancy one full of fighting.

It is Saturday, and you might be at home with family all day. Maybe someone bumps into you, or your little brother grabs the last cookie. You get to choose. You can start a storm, or you can keep things peaceful. Your quiet kindness makes the whole house nicer.

✩ The afternoon moment

A woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her living on physicians and could not be healed by any came behind him, and touched the fringe of his cloak. Immediately the flow of her blood stopped.

Luke 8:43-44 (WEB)

In simple words: A woman had been sick for twelve long years. She quietly touched the edge of Jesus' coat, and right away she was completely healed.

Picture a big, noisy crowd on a Saturday, kind of like when your whole family squeezes into one room. People are pushing, talking, trying to see Jesus. And there in the middle is a tired woman who has been sick for twelve years. Twelve!

She does not shout. She does not wave. She just reaches out one finger and touches the edge of Jesus' coat. And in that tiny second, she is well again.

You do not always need big words to reach Jesus. Sometimes just a quiet thought from your bedroom or the couch is enough. He notices the smallest touch, even when the room is full and loud. He noticed her. He notices you too.

☾ The evening moment

Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing.

Psalm 23:1 (WEB)

In simple words: God takes care of you like a shepherd takes care of his sheep. With Him near, you have everything you really need.

What a day it has been. Maybe you played outside, maybe you helped in the kitchen, maybe you just relaxed on the couch. Now the sky is getting dark and your pillow is waiting.

A shepherd knows every single one of his sheep. He counts them. He watches for the ones that wander off. He stays awake so the sheep can sleep. That is how God watches over you tonight. He knows your name. He knows exactly where your bed is.

Tomorrow is Sunday, a quiet day, maybe a church day. But that is for tomorrow. Right now, you can let go of everything. God is holding it. You are safe. Close your eyes.
