God's Hand Cares For You

God's caring hand

2 weeks ago For children 4 Bible verses

Four short Bible moments for children, based on Psalm 145:16, John 13:34, Luke 8:54 and Psalm 139:4.

☀ Morning moment

You open your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

Psalm 145:16 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: God opens His hand and gives everyone what they need, just like breakfast on your plate this morning.

Smell that toast? Or maybe it is cereal, or eggs, or nothing fancy at all. Someone made it for you, but before that, God already thought of you this morning. He opens His hand and gives what you need, even before you ask.

Think about your whole day coming up. Shoes to tie, a bag to grab, maybe a friend waiting at the gate, a teacher who says good morning. God is not far away watching from a distance. He is right there, filling your day with small good things, one after another, like a hand opening again and again.

Your turn
Before you rush out the door, say one quiet thank you to God for something you can already see on your breakfast table.

✦ Lunch moment

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.

John 13:34 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Jesus gives His friends a new rule: love each other, the same way He loves you.

Right now, in the middle of your Thursday, you are probably sitting somewhere with other kids around you. Maybe at a lunch table, maybe at home with your family. Take a quick look around. Is there someone who looks a bit left out, or someone who could use a smile?

Jesus did not just tell people to be nice. He said, love each other the way I love you. That is a big kind of love, patient and warm, not just for your best friend but for everyone nearby. It is the kind of love that shares fries, saves a seat, or laughs at someone's joke even when it is not that funny.

Your turn
This afternoon, do one small loving thing for someone near you, share something, say something kind, or invite them to play.

✩ Afternoon moment

But he put them all outside, and taking her by the hand, he called, saying, “Child, arise!”

Luke 8:54 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Jesus took the little girl's hand and said, wake up, child. And she woke up.

Think about the last time you felt really tired, maybe after a long school day, or after being sick in bed. Someone came, maybe mom or dad, and gently woke you up or helped you feel better again.

Jesus did that for a little girl who had died. Everyone was crying, but Jesus held her hand and simply said, wake up. And she did. Not with magic tricks or loud shouting, just a hand and a few gentle words.

Jesus is not far away and scary. He is close, like someone who holds your hand when things feel hard or sad. You can talk to Him about anything, even the things that scare you.

Your turn
Today, hold someone's hand, like mom, dad, or a friend, and tell them one thing that made you feel small or scared this week.

☾ Evening moment

For there is not a word on my tongue, but, behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether.

Psalm 139:4 (World English Bible (WEB))

In simple words: Even before you say something out loud, God already knows what you are thinking. He knows you completely.

Today was a busy day. Maybe you had school, maybe you played outside, maybe something made you happy or something made you a little sad. You didn't even have to explain it all to God. He already knew.

That's what tonight's verse says. Before you even open your mouth, God already knows what's on your mind. You don't need the perfect words. You don't need to explain everything that happened today. God already understands, just like a mom who knows you're tired just by looking at your face.

Your turn
Before you close your eyes tonight, whisper one thing to God about your day, even just one small word.
